Avin Lu, Rima Thanh Vy star in a film produced by the producer of Tomb Raider

Avin Lu, whose real name is Luong Anh Vu, born in 1995, once attracted attention for playing the young Trinh Cong Son in the movie Em va Trinh (2022). Meanwhile, Rima Thanh Vy, whose real name is Nguyen Phuong Thanh Vy, born in 1995, made her mark with Thanh Soi and Muoi: The curse returns.

Avin Lu and Rima Thanh Vy once appeared in Once Upon a Time There Was a Love Story - a film adapted from the work of writer Nguyen Nhat Anh. This time, the two young actors have the opportunity to reunite in Cai Ma - a project that has attracted attention due to the participation of producer Kim Young Min (Korea).

After the movie "Ghost Tomb Digger" made a global splash, producer Kim Young Min affirmed his own position in turning local cultural materials into stories that attract international audiences.

In the journey to exploit the horror - spiritual film genre, the Korean producer decided to choose Vietnam as the next stop, because according to him, this is a land rich in cultural depth and unique spiritual customs.

The film was directed by Thang Vu with the participation of a Korean team. In addition to Rima Thanh Vy and Avin Lu, the film also has the participation of actors: Hoang Phuc, Kim Hai...

The film is inspired by the exhumation ritual, a long-standing belief in Vietnamese culture. This is a family ritual to exhume the deceased after many years of burial, to pray for the soul to be liberated and at peace, and to bring peace and luck to descendants.

The producer said the film is not simply a mystical-spiritual film, but conveys a message about blood ties and philosophies about the cycle of life and death.

In the context of horror and spiritual films attracting audiences, the film is expected to bring a new perspective on Vietnamese culture, exploiting the depth of national identity through the lens of modern cinema.

Producer Kim Young Min has over 25 years of experience, having participated in the production of over 20 films and television series. Among them, two films, Secretly Greatly (2013) and Exhuma: Tomb of the Ghost (2024), were resounding successes, breaking many box office records in Korea and internationally, and winning many film awards.

He is also an experienced lecturer in the field of film production, training a generation of young producers at many universities from 2011 to present. The representative of the producer in Vietnam said: "This cooperation with producer Kim Young Min is not only strategic, but also opens up great opportunities for Vietnamese films and Vietnamese culture to be widely released in cinemas in Korea."

The movie is scheduled to be released on October 17th.
