In order to convert crops and help people reduce poverty, Tuyen Lam Commune People's Committee has promoted, mobilized and supported 30 people in Cao village to convert 5 hectares of corn land to grow high-yield cassava KM94 on a pilot basis. After planting, the cassava has adapted to the land and climate in this mountainous area, so it has grown well and produced many tubers. After 10 months of care, the cassava has now been harvested.
According to initial assessment, cassava yield reached 16 tons/ha, estimated output reached 80 tons. Vice Chairman of Tuyen Lam Commune People's Committee Tran Nhan Son said: "To help people switch to growing cassava, the Commune People's Committee sent officials to people's homes to propagate, mobilize, and provide technical guidance. After that, we bought seeds and fertilizers, then held hands, showed people how to plant, care for, and prevent pests and diseases."
