Trips with diverse experiences
Taking advantage of the last days of summer, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong (HCMC) decided to explore Ba Ria - Vung Tau with her family over the weekend. "Before that, the whole family had researched tours and destinations in the area, selected and planned to experience interesting destinations suitable for the whole family to visit," Ms. Huong shared.
On Friday afternoon, the whole family left Ho Chi Minh City to travel to Vung Tau, stayed in a coastal hotel, enjoyed some famous local dishes such as stingray hotpot, snail dishes... and then walked together on the beach at night.
The next day, the whole family took a canoe to explore the western bay of Ba Ria - Vung Tau , had lunch on a raft village. In the afternoon, the whole family visited Ho May Park tourist area on Big Mountain with many games, experienced a night stay on the top of the mountain, and enjoyed the attractive music night that takes place every Saturday night.
On Sunday morning, the whole family decided to visit the Provincial Museum, Bach Dinh relic, and the Museum of Ancient Weapons. Then, we had lunch with seafood dishes before returning to Ho Chi Minh City.
"The trip was a memorable experience for our family. In addition to the family bonding when going out together, the children and even I gained more practical knowledge when observing the seaport with giant ships; oil and gas facilities... and even useful historical information, fascinating stories about the history of formation and development of Ba Ria - Vung Tau...", Ms. Huong said.
Mr. Doan Anh Kiet (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City) chose a rural area in Ba Ria - Vung Tau as his destination to relax after work; let his children experience the atmosphere of gardens, rice fields, and harvesting agricultural products...
According to Mr. Kiet, his family has lived in the bustling urban atmosphere of Ho Chi Minh City and has also experienced high-quality resort services in the Ho Tram area, Xuyen Moc district. Therefore, this time, they chose the countryside for the whole family to experience.
"With a distance of just over 2 hours drive from Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau is a destination with diverse and rich experiences for short vacations. In the future, I will continue to choose Ba Ria - Vung Tau so that my family can have more experiences," said Mr. Kiet.
Developing sports tourism trends
In addition to diverse and rich experiences, Ba Ria - Vung Tau also attracts a large number of tourists through a series of high-performance sports tournaments; popular and socialized sports tournaments...
With its sea strength, Ba Ria - Vung Tau has hosted many national sports events such as beach volleyball, beach wrestling, triathlon, beach sepak takraw... in recent times. In addition, a series of national competitions in other sports such as martial arts, billiards, bodybuilding... have been and are being organized locally.
Mr. Huynh Duc Dung - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports said that according to the plan, in 2024, there will be about 50 national and international tournaments hosted by Ba Ria-Vung Tau. The tournaments that have taken place have all been successful, contributing significantly to promoting the friendly and hospitable image of the province; building the image of a sports tourism destination for the locality.
According to statistics, many tournaments have high direct and indirect viewership. Some tournaments recorded 3,000 live viewers and hundreds of thousands of followers on media channels and livestream social networking platforms.
"Some professional tournaments have been expanded to parks, beaches, public areas... which has helped increase the accessibility of high-performance sports to people and tourists, contributing positively to promoting the image and developing the local economic pillars," said Mr. Dung.
Mr. Trinh Hang - Director of the Department of Tourism commented that with the strengths of the locality and the cooperation of units, the tourism industry has achieved positive results in the first 7 months of 2024.
The whole province welcomed more than 10 million visitors, an increase of 18.63% over the same period. Total revenue from tourists was more than 10,732 billion VND, an increase of 20.94% over the same period. Tourism activities were vibrant, but with stable development quality.
The locality also received high votes and rankings from prestigious organizations. For example, Vung Tau City was honored for the third time as “ASEAN Clean Tourist City”, the only locality in Vietnam to receive this title three times in a row. Or Con Dao was also voted by many travel websites as the most classy and mysterious tourist destination on the planet. In addition, the locality is in the top 3 of the most searched destinations during the 2.9 holiday this year...
"In the coming time, the province is building a tourism development strategy until 2030 with a vision to 2050. The goal is to become a high-class resort center by 2030, a unique entertainment destination in Vietnam, famous in the region," Mr. Hang informed.
By 2050, Ba Ria - Vung Tau will be world-famous for its vibrant coastal tourism urban chain; diverse and unique types of services. A strong tourism industry will become a driving force for trade, services and other industries, contributing significantly to promoting green and sustainable economic growth.
