On April 10, the Standing Office of the Government Human Rights Steering Committee coordinated with the Bac Giang Provincial Human Rights Steering Committee to organize a training conference on human rights work in 2024.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Mai Son, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Human Rights of Bac Giang province, said that in recent times, Bac Giang province has achieved good results in socio -economic development, constantly improving the material and spiritual life of the people. The province's economic growth rate reached 13.45%, ranking first in the country. Social security work is ensured, especially for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, women, children... Sustainable poverty reduction is focused on; the poverty rate of the whole province (according to the new standard 2021-2025) decreased to 2.63%, of which the poverty rate of especially disadvantaged communes decreased by 13.4%, down to 13.6%. In 2023, the whole province created new jobs for 33,000 workers...

In addition to the achievements, there are still limitations in human rights work, such as: Propaganda work on human rights achievements has been promoted but not in depth. A number of cadres and party members have not fully understood and understood the Party and State's guidelines, policies and guidelines on human rights, and have not clearly distinguished between human rights issues and hostile forces' plots to exploit human rights for sabotage. The results of the fight against activities that exploit freedom of religious belief, freedom of speech and freedom of the internet to conduct sabotage activities are still limited.

At the conference, Major General Nguyen Van Ky, Deputy Chief of the Government's Standing Office on Human Rights, affirmed that human rights are the common work of the entire political system, closely linked to the grassroots level, so it requires the joint efforts and coordination of departments, branches and sectors in protecting and ensuring human rights. He suggested that the Standing Office of the Bac Giang Provincial Steering Committee for Human Rights in the coming time should be proactive in advising authorities at all levels on implementing policies and laws on ensuring and promoting human rights; continue to promote internal and external communications, spreading positive information about achievements in ensuring human rights... Proactively do a good job of grasping the situation, raising vigilance, detecting plots and activities of hostile forces taking advantage of democracy and human rights issues.

The training conference on human rights thoroughly grasped new issues related to the work of ensuring human rights so that cadres and party members could grasp and effectively apply them to their work. Delegates listened to the reporters present two topics: Prevention of plots and activities that take advantage of workers' organizations to violate national security, social order and safety, and human rights work in the new situation.

The topics were highly appreciated by delegates for providing practical information and knowledge on human rights protection, thereby helping officials in charge of management, consulting and enforcement of human rights protection to better perform their duties and professional work.

In his closing speech at the Conference, Mr. Mai Son, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Bac Giang Provincial Human Rights Steering Committee, said that the Conference was a valuable opportunity for the staff working on ensuring human rights to improve their knowledge as well as equip themselves with necessary skills in the process of performing their tasks. Thereby, contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of propaganda work, fighting against activities that take advantage of democracy and human rights to sabotage us in the province. The Conference also created a forum to share and exchange practical work experiences, answer questions and resolve difficulties and obstacles in implementing human rights work, and strengthen coordination between central and local authorities in the work of ensuring, protecting and fighting to protect human rights.
