Bac Kan inaugurated 3 key traffic works to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

The three projects inaugurated include: Bac Kan city - Ba Be lake road connecting to Na Hang (Tuyen Quang), section Km0+00 - Km37+00; Quang Khe - Khang Ninh road, Ba Be district and traffic infrastructure in the area around Ba Be lake. The total investment for the three projects is up to more than 4,300 billion VND, mobilized from the central and local budgets.

These are not only large-scale projects on transport infrastructure but also key political and social projects, contributing to concretizing the province's development strategy, especially in the field of tourism associated with preserving and promoting the value of Ba Be Lake's natural heritage.

The Bac Kan city - Ba Be lake route is 37 km long, starting at Song Cau ward, Bac Kan city, ending at Quang Khe commune, Ba Be district; the total investment is about 2,000 billion VND. The route is designed according to the standards of grade III and IV mountainous areas, the road surface is 8 m wide with 2 lanes, the design speed is 40 - 60 km/h, integrated with a modern traffic warning system and 8 important level intersections. This route is the axis directly connecting the administrative and economic center of the province with the Ba Be lake tourist area - one of the largest and most beautiful natural freshwater lakes in Vietnam.

Nearly 18 km long, the Quang Khe - Khang Ninh route is an "extended arm" of the Bac Kan city - Ba Be lake road axis, directly connecting with tourist attractions and services around the lake such as Pac Ngoi village, Coc Toc village, tourist boat dock, eco-tourism center. The project has a total investment of nearly 440 billion VND, designed according to the standards of grade IV mountainous roads, with a road surface of 5.5 m wide. In particular, the project is completed synchronously with a drainage system, signs and intersections flexibly connecting with existing routes. After more than 3 years of construction, the route not only helps traffic become more convenient but is also an important condition to improve the quality of tourism services in the Ba Be lake area.

Traffic infrastructure project around Ba Be Lake includes 3 main items: DT254 route, section Km105+000 - Km112+600, the route from DT254 to Coc Toc village and Nam Mau - Quang Khe route, with a total investment of 181.2 billion VND. In addition to expanding and renovating the road surface and drainage system, the project also upgraded Pac Ngoi suspension bridge into a modern steel girder bridge, still retaining the ancient architecture to serve the development of eco-tourism. In particular, the design of landscape, railings, lighting, underground technical ditch system and road renovation through residential areas have significantly changed the appearance of Ba Be Lake tourist area, making it more friendly to tourists, while ensuring traffic safety and urban beauty.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Kan province affirmed that these are three key projects of the province, not only having important significance in socio-economic development, ensuring security and defense of the province but also a vivid demonstration of the spirit of innovation, the desire for change, opening up opportunities for integration and strong development of Bac Kan homeland in the new period - the period of independence, peace and building a strong and prosperous country, with the mindset of being ready to enter a new era, the era of national development.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that during the implementation process, the projects encountered many difficulties in terms of weather, natural disasters, terrain, geology, construction sites, and scarcity of raw materials and supplies... However, with the spirit of action "Working, not retreating", "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain", "working on holidays, days off, three shifts, four shifts"; especially with the attention of the Government leaders and central ministries and branches, directly Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the Prime Minister visited and inspected the progress and quality of the construction on the Bac Kan city - Ba Be lake road, closely directed the progress and quality of the project, issued policies to resolve arising problems... creating conditions for the projects to be completed on schedule.

In the next phase, Bac Kan continues to identify the development of transport infrastructure as a key task to expand regional connectivity, attract investment and develop green and sustainable tourism; The three projects that have just been inaugurated are concrete evidence of the determination and implementation capacity of the government and people of Bac Kan province in realizing the set development goals.
