Bac Ninh: Many areas in the highlands are isolated due to floods

BAC NINH - Due to the influence of storm No. 5, from the evening of August 25 to this morning (August 26), there was rain in Bac Ninh province; many highland communes had heavy rain causing flooding and local isolation.

On Provincial Road 291C to the center of Dai Son Commune, there are 2 flooded spots. Floodwaters have inundated Phuc Son Medical Station. Currently, the water continues to rise, isolating some villages of Dai Son Commune, making it difficult for vehicles to pass through this area.

In Na Trang village, An Lac commune, a landslide occurred near a high-voltage electric pole, causing the pole to be at risk of falling. The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of An Lac commune has informed the authorities to coordinate the solution.

In Duong Huu commune, there is a heavily damaged culvert (the concrete slab on the road surface has come off), making it difficult for vehicles to travel. Many areas are isolated due to rising flood waters.

In Son Dong commune, to ensure the safety of some households living along the river and in low-lying areas, last night, the local government announced and supported households to urgently evacuate to a safe place.

According to the Bac Ninh Province Hydrometeorological Station, the flood on the Luc Nam River in the upstream area is rising rapidly. As of 7:00 a.m. this morning (August 26), the water level measured at Cam Dan Hydrometeorological Station is at alert level 2, and may possibly rise to alert level 3.

Early this morning, storm No. 5 moved to the central region of Laos and weakened into a tropical depression. Today, in localities in the province, there will continue to be moderate rain, some places will have heavy rain, heavy rain concentrated in the morning and then gradually decrease.
