Responding to the Palm Beach Post on May 27, the spokesman for US First Lady Melania Trump, Mr. Nicholas Clemens, confirmed that Barron never applied to Harvard University.
“Any information that he or someone on his behalf applied to this school is completely false,” Fox News quoted him as saying.
Mr. Trump's youngest son has just completed his first year at New York University (NYU), located in Manhattan, central New York.
Barron began attending NYU’s Stern School of Business in September 2024, before his father won the recent presidential election. He is expected to graduate in 2028.
Melania also mentioned her son's college life in an interview with Fox and Friends in December.
“I don’t think he can be a normal student. Barron’s experience at college is very different from any other child,” the US First Lady shared on television.
She added that her son was “very strong and understood the difference in his situation”.
Rumors about Barron have emerged recently as the Trump administration has been embroiled in legal and political disputes with Harvard University.
Mr Trump accused the prestigious school of “virulent anti-Semitism” and said he was considering cutting or redirecting federal funding to Harvard.
In a post on the social network Truth Social on May 26, Mr. Trump proposed transferring $3.2 billion in federal funding to vocational schools across the United States, calling it a “great and necessary investment.”
Meanwhile, Harvard University has filed a lawsuit in federal court to restore this funding, which was frozen by the Trump administration last April.
Rumors in the US say that Barron Trump was rejected by Harvard University because of conflicts between President Donald Trump and the school.
There are also unfounded rumors that the US president is tense with Harvard because the school previously... refused to accept Barron.
