Balotelli has found a new club.

Mario Balotelli is preparing for another turning point in his career by joining a third-division club in Spain.

Balotelli is set to join Murcia.

Balotelli joined Genoa in October 2024, but only made six appearances and is now being released from his contract. The Italian striker's representatives have begun negotiations with Real Murcia, a team currently playing in the Spanish third division.

Murcia president Felipe Moreno and sporting director Asier Goiria met with Balotelli's advisors in Madrid. The two sides discussed signing the Italian striker on a free transfer this summer.

Real Murcia has spent 18 seasons in La Liga, most recently in the 2007/08 season. The team also holds the record for winning eight league titles. However, financial difficulties led to their relegation to the fourth division in 2022.

Murcia plays at the Estadio Nueva Condomina, which has a capacity of 31,000 spectators, and is expected to be a leading contender for promotion next season. The team finished second in Group 2 of the Primera Federacion last season, but unfortunately lost in the promotion playoff semi-finals to Gimnastic de Tarragona.

If negotiations go smoothly, Murcia will become Balotelli's 13th club. However, fans are concerned that this Spanish team may not be a long-term destination for Balotelli. He often leaves quickly after only a year playing for clubs in Europe.
