This morning, October 25, in Ho Chi Minh City, Mac Dinh Chi Secondary School (Tan Binh District) sent an urgent notice to the school's parent representative board refusing to show gratitude to the school's teaching staff on the occasion of Vietnam Teachers' Day, November 20.

In the announcement of Mac Dinh Chi Secondary School (Tan Binh District) sent to the Parents' Representative Board, there is the following content:

The school has learned that the Parents' Committee has the intention to organize a meeting to show gratitude to the school's teaching staff on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20. The school would like to acknowledge the kindness of the parents of the school's representatives and would like to express our sincere thanks to you for your intention to organize a meeting to show gratitude, aiming to connect the school and parents. We are very grateful for your attention and positive spirit of cooperation.

However, the school would like to inform you that we refuse this gratitude from the board of representatives. As the school is newly established, we want to focus more on teaching, as well as organizing teaching andeducational activities for students in the coming time to ensure their comprehensive development.

At the same time, the school would like to inform all the school's parent representative committee and the class parent representative committees, please pay attention to properly implementing Article 10 of Circular 55/2011/TT-BGDDT issued by the Ministry, to avoid cases of improper implementation that affect the reputation and honor of the school.

In an urgent notice sent to the school's Parents' Association, Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Suong, Principal of Mac Dinh Chi Secondary School, added: "We hope that in the coming time, the Parents' Association will continue to accompany the school, joining hands to build an increasingly better educational environment for students."

Messages believed to be from the school's parent committee sent to classes

The Board of Directors of Mac Dinh Chi Secondary School issued the above urgent notice because on social media appeared a message believed to be from a member of the school's Parents' Association sent to the Parents' Association of each class about raising funds to organize a meeting to show gratitude to all teachers and staff of the school on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20.

Message with content: "...On the occasion of the upcoming Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20, in order to express gratitude to the silent ferrymen, and at the same time create a connection between the school and parents, creating a united and strong Mac Dinh Chi community, the school's Parents' Committee would like to, on behalf of all parents, organize a meaningful and cozy Vietnamese Teachers' Day gratitude party on November 20... For the program to go well, the school's Parents' Committee hopes that parents and donors will voluntarily support this noble act, demonstrating the spirit of respecting teachers, the fine humane tradition of our nation for generations...".

It is known that Mac Dinh Chi Secondary School is one of three public schools (along with Hung Vuong Primary School and Son Ca Kindergarten) in Tan Binh District that was just established in July 2024. These three schools were built according to the regulations of national standard schools with a total construction cost of over 1,150 billion VND from the city budget. The cluster of three schools is located on a public works land with an area of ​​over 50,000 m2 in Ward 6, Tan Binh District. This school year, the school only enrolls 10 new grade 6 students and 10 grade 7 students (students transferred from other schools). The school is expected to be inaugurated and put into use on April 30, 2025 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day. While waiting for construction, students of Mac Dinh Chi Secondary School are temporarily studying at the headquarters of the Department of Education and Training of Tan Binh District.
