The Red Cross Society of Ha Tinh province and the Red Cross Society of Loc Ha district coordinated with local authorities and authorities to organize the handover and put into use two "Safe houses for fishermen" in Thinh Loc commune.

On the morning of May 30, Loc Ha District Party Secretary Nguyen The Hoan and Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society Mai Le Thuoc, along with representatives of departments and branches, handed over a house to fisherman Nguyen Van Dong in Yen Diem village (Thinh Loc commune).

The handover ceremony was held at the house of Mr. Nguyen Van Dong in Yen Diem village and Mr. Duong Hien in Nam Son village (both in Thinh Loc commune). These are two fishing households in Loc Ha area that have had their houses built under the Government 's support program to build "Safe houses for fishermen".

The family of these two fishermen is poor, their house has been degraded for many years but they do not have the conditions to repair or upgrade, so the Red Cross at all levels and local authorities have surveyed, considered, and selected them for support to build a new house.

After more than 3 months of construction, the 2 houses have been basically completed and handed over for use on schedule. The houses have an area of about 70 - 80 m2 , construction cost nearly 350 million VND, ensuring the "3 hard" criteria (hard foundation, hard wall, hard roof), with functions suitable for family life.

It is known that, in addition to the support of 50 million VND/house from the Provincial Red Cross, during the construction process, mass organizations, neighbors, brothers... supported labor days, materials, and lent money to help the two fishing families "settle down and make a living".
