On the competition day of May 13, Vietnamese sports teams continuously brought victory news and won 16 gold medals for the Vietnamese sports delegation.

On the second day of competition at the 32nd SEA Games, the Vietnamese diving team made waves on the blue track with 5 consecutive gold medals and broke 3 records of the Games. Those victories came from: Kim Anh Kiet (men's 400m fins), Nguyen Tran San San (women's 400m gold medal), Vu Dang Nhat Nam (men's 200m fins double), women's 4x100m gold medal relay and men's 4x100m gold medal relay.
The Vietnamese aerobics team had an impressive debut with a hat-trick of gold medals in the men's singles, women's singles, and groups of 3. Phan Thế Gia Hiển achieved a total score of 19.450 to surpass Chanokpon Jiumsukjai (Thailand) and win the men's singles gold medal. Next was the women's singles gold medal by Trần Hà Vi, who achieved the highest score of 18.366 points in the final round. In addition, the Vietnamese team won another gold medal in the group of 3 with Hoàng Gia Bảo, Lê Hoàng Phong, and Nguyễn Chế Thanh.
On the same day of competition, the Vietnamese boxing team also brought home 2 gold medals thanks to Bui Phuoc Tung (men's 71kg category) and Ha Thi Linh (women's 63kg category). In addition, the Vietnamese sports delegation also won 1 gold medal in the following events: judo, women's 1-cushion carom billiards, cycling, weightlifting, chess, and traditional boat racing.
