Speaking at the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Bulgaria Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet shared with representatives of Bulgarian press agencies some highlights of Vietnam's socio -economic development achievements after nearly 40 years of Doi Moi. The Ambassador also informed about Vietnam's efforts to reform the administrative apparatus towards streamlining and efficiency and introduced the "four pillars" in the current development orientation, including: Science and technology, innovation and digital transformation; international integration; law-making; private economic development. These are four fundamental institutional pillars, creating strong momentum to move Vietnam forward in the new era, realizing the goal of becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045.
The Ambassador also informed about the Bilateral Business Forum organized by the Embassy in coordination with the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) on July 3, with the direct participation of many Vietnamese enterprises. The Ambassador expressed his hope that the Forum will be a practical opportunity for the two sides to effectively exploit the potential for cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and investment.

Representative of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Ms. Gabriela Dimitrova, Head of the International Relations Department, highly appreciated Vietnam's economic development achievements in recent years. She said that BCCI is closely coordinating with the Vietnamese Embassy to prepare for the upcoming Business Forum. According to her, the Bulgarian business community is currently paying much attention to the Vietnamese market, with a large number of businesses in fields such as pharmaceuticals, real estate, human resource supply, food, etc. participating in the Forum and bilateral connection activities.
Journalist Maxim Behar shared his memories of writing an article about the Vietnamese community working in Bulgaria in the 1980s and 1990s, expressing his deep impression of the diligence and hard work of the Vietnamese people. He assessed that Vietnam is now a “big country” with a dynamically developing economy, and emphasized that the good traditional friendship between the two countries is a favorable foundation for businesses from both sides to strengthen connections and establish cooperation in the coming time.
On the sidelines of the event, representatives of the Bulgarian press shared positive assessments of Vietnam's socio-economic development and foreign affairs achievements after nearly 40 years of Doi Moi; unanimously assessed that there is still much potential for cooperation between Vietnam and Bulgaria. Delegates also asked many questions about Vietnam's foreign policy, economy, culture, prospects and directions for cooperation between Vietnam and Bulgaria in the coming time.
