* Awarding the 17th Provincial Press Awards 2023
On June 21 , in Tuy Hoa City, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of the province organized the celebration of the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21 , 2024 ) and awarded the 17th Phu Yen Provincial Press Award in 2023 .

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Dao Bao Minh, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee; Bui Thanh Toan, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Do Thai Phong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Dao My, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Do Thi Nhu Tinh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; provincial leaders of all periods; leaders of provincial departments, branches, sectors and organizations; leaders of press agencies and a large number of journalists.

On this day 99 years ago - June 21, 1925, Thanh Nien newspaper - the organ of the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association, with Nguyen Ai Quoc as editor and writer - published its first issue. Under the guidance and leadership of the Party and Uncle Ho, Thanh Nien newspaper and generations of the first proletarian journalists courageously and actively propagated Marxism-Leninism in Vietnam, creating a very important ideological and organizational start for the birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam in 1930, contributing to rallying the masses to make the great August Revolution, regaining power for the people, and establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

99 years of construction and growth, generations of journalists have always been imbued with Uncle Ho's teachings, not afraid of difficulties and hardships, promptly and vividly reflecting the resistance war, national construction, innovation and development of the country; discovering, encouraging, motivating and expanding vibrant revolutionary action movements; resolutely fighting to defeat all sabotage plots of hostile forces, protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against negativity, corruption and social evils; at the same time being a reliable forum, expressing the will, feelings, aspirations and protecting the legitimate rights of the People.

Along with the general development of the national press, the revolutionary press of Phu Yen province has continuously grown in all aspects. The province currently has 2 local press agencies, 2 magazines, 1 provincial electronic information portal, more than 160 cadres, journalists, reporters, and editors. In addition to local press agencies, there are 5 representative offices and more than 40 journalists from central press agencies and industry newspapers operating in the province. The Phu Yen Journalists Association has 5 branches, 2 press clubs with 145 members. The appearance, quantity, and quality of press publications, radio and television programs of Phu Yen province and permanent agencies located in the area are increasingly improved, becoming more professional. The amount of information posted is increasingly rich, diverse and attractive.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Provincial People's Committee, Comrade Dao My acknowledged and commended the achievements of local and central press agencies, reporters and journalists operating in the province in recent times; thanked the press agencies, journalists, collaborators... for always accompanying the Party Committee, government and people in building and developing the economy , ensuring social security and stability.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dao My requested cadres, journalists and reporters in the province to continue to promote their vanguard role on the front line to protect the Party's ideological foundation, guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, to fight, debate and publicly refute erroneous and hostile viewpoints, especially erroneous information on social networks; promptly detect and encourage typical collectives and individuals, good people and good deeds, contributing to strengthening the trust of the people, the business community and investors inside and outside the province.
Comrade Dao My emphasized: “The team of journalists continues to further promote the sense of responsibility, constantly improve political qualities and cultivate professional ethics, strive to be creative, proactively protect what is right, discover and arouse new and progressive elements; at the same time, frankly fight against negative aspects in society and in journalism activities; strictly implement regulations on professional ethics of journalists... Party committees, authorities and localities pay more attention to journalism activities; closely coordinate and create favorable conditions for journalism activities...

Press agencies and the Provincial Journalists Association constantly improve the efficiency of their operations, increase the attractiveness of press works; pay attention to doing a good job of building, training and fostering a team of journalists with solid political qualities, good expertise, clear professional ethics, social responsibility and civic awareness...; focus on propagating the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State, regularly update and promptly report on good people and good deeds, strongly promote the image, potential and strengths of Phu Yen to investors and friends at home and abroad".

According to journalist Pham Doan Anh Kiet, Executive Vice President of Phu Yen Journalists Association, the standing body of Phu Yen Provincial Press Awards Council: Through selection from hundreds of works, there are 58 press works by authors and groups of authors sent to participate in the 17th Phu Yen Provincial Press Awards in 2023. The works cover quite comprehensively political, economic, cultural, and social issues, closely following current events, especially issues of social concern.
Among the 34 works selected for awards, some were carefully invested, demonstrating their acumen, ability to grasp the issue as well as the ability to use the language characteristics of the journalism genre. Some authors pursued the issue to the end, demonstrating the commitment of journalists to have journalistic works that are highly appreciated by the public.

The Provincial Press Awards Council decided to award 4 A prizes, 8 B prizes, 10 C prizes and 12 consolation prizes to authors and groups of authors with excellent works in the following categories: print, television, radio, electronic newspapers and press photos.
On this occasion, in order to express gratitude for their contributions to the development of journalism, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association decided to award the medal "For the cause of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism" to 7 comrades who are leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, leaders of the Departments: Mass Mobilization, Internal Affairs, Organization, Provincial Party Committee Office and 2 journalists, members of Phu Yen Newspaper, Phu Yen Radio and Television Station.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 3 authors who won national awards in the field of journalism organized by central agencies in 2023.
