Vang Anh Kindergarten in District 8, Ho Chi Minh City, has announced instructions for parents regarding the second round of enrollment. According to Vang Anh Kindergarten, District 8, students who have not registered for the 2024-2025 school year or who disagree with the results of the first round of admissions should register for the second round following these instructions:

• From July 15, 2024, starting at 6:00 AM until July 21, 2024 (ending at 9:00 PM), parents can register for the second enrollment period by logging into the Ho Chi Minh City online enrollment system (http://tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn) or they can go to the school for registration assistance;
  
• From July 22nd to August 1st, 2024, parents can monitor the admission results, check the results, and confirm enrollment if they agree with the assigned school, or refuse enrollment if they do not agree with the assigned school.
  
• Immediately after successful admission confirmation, parents must submit the admission documents to the admitted school before 5 PM on August 1, 2024.

Do all institutions conduct a second round of admissions?

Phase 2: Based on the units that have not recruited enough students compared to the assigned quota, and in cases where parents do not agree with the school's admission results, the admissions steering committee for the first grade will decide on supplementary admissions, and simultaneously stipulate that students are allowed to register for admission during this phase (registration is conducted online at http://tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn) according to the schedule specified in the following table:

Mr. Nguyen Thai Vinh Nguyen, Head of the Education and Training Department of Thu Duc City, suggested: "Schools must assign members of the admissions council who are well-versed in admissions principles and methods to work on-site, provide advice, and assist parents in entering information into the software, etc., in order to help parents resolve any questions or difficulties they may have; answering parents' questions should be done gently and in a way that fosters a receptive attitude."

According to the enrollment plan for the 2024-2025 school year of Tam Binh Primary School, Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City), the first enrollment period will be from June 28, 2024 to July 8, 2024. Results will be announced and enrollment applications will be accepted from July 9 to July 16, 2024. Tam Binh Primary School will enroll children who have been assigned to a school district (as per the website http://tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn, whose information has been fully updated by the preschool/kindergarten in the relevant sector's database) and whose names are on the list of the Thu Duc City enrollment steering committee.

In fact, on July 2nd, Tam Binh Primary School announced the list of first-grade students admitted in the first round for the 2024-2025 school year (including a list of parents who have confirmed their agreement to enroll their children in the new school year and a list of students whose parents have not yet confirmed their enrollment).

According to the school's enrollment plan, the second enrollment period will take place from July 19th to July 22nd, 2024. The target group for this second enrollment period includes students whose names are compiled from the Tam Binh Ward survey and whose names are updated in the second phase on the education sector's database website. The Steering Committee for Primary School Enrollment will assess the capacity of Tam Binh Primary School to make adjustments and arrangements accordingly, ensuring that 100% of students can attend school.

What should be done for children of first grade age residing in the area but not on the enrollment list?

In the document "Guidelines on some aspects of mobilizing children to attend school and enrolling them in the first grades of the 2024-2025 school year in Thu Duc City", the Head of the Education and Training Department of Thu Duc City emphasized:

In cases where children of primary school age reside in the area but are not on the ward's enrollment list, the enrollment council will instruct parents to contact the ward's People's Committee or the ward's education specialist to have their names added to the list.

No entrance exams will be held to select students for classes. Students whose names are not on the pre-arranged list will not be accepted; any adjustments to schools compared to the list must be approved by the Head of the Department of Education and Training - Deputy Head of the Standing Committee for Admissions if there are any changes to schools during the admissions process.

For students of the prescribed age who completed the primary school program in the 2023-2024 school year but did not attend primary schools in Thu Duc City, schools are requested to guide parents to submit applications to the Department of Education and Training for the second round of school placement (for grade 6 - PV).

Before the enrollment period ends, the school's admissions committee reviews the cases of students whose names are on the list but have not yet registered for enrollment. They then compile a list, develop a plan, assign personnel to contact and support parents via phone, and notify the People's Committee of the ward to coordinate verification and persuasion efforts.
