“U17 Malaysia lost the top spot to U17 Vietnam in Group C of the U17 Asian qualifiers,” Makan Bola newspaper began its article about the group stage. In the second match, U17 Vietnam defeated the Northern Mariana Islands 14-0, while U17 Malaysia only won 1-0 against U17 Hong Kong (China).

That helped U17 Vietnam surpass U17 Malaysia to lead Group C. Both teams have 6 points but U17 Vietnam is ranked higher due to better goal difference.
Makan Bola newspaper commented further: “In the opening match, U17 Malaysia won 13-0 against U17 Northern Mariana Islands and temporarily took the top spot in the group. However, coach Javier Jorda and his team lost this position to U17 Vietnam.
After a resounding victory, U17 Malaysia disappointed when they struggled to win 1-0 against U17 Hong Kong. This was a match in which the whole team played below their ability. Taking advantage of this opportunity, U17 Vietnam took the lead when they won 14-0 against U17 Northern Mariana Islands.

U17 Vietnam and U17 Malaysia both have 6 points after two matches, but U17 Vietnam's goal difference is much better. In the third match, U17 Malaysia will face U17 Macau (China). Coach Javier Jorda's team needs to take advantage of this match to score many goals. Meanwhile, U17 Vietnam will face U17 Hong Kong.
Both teams need to maintain their winning streak before facing each other in the final match on November 30. Only the top team will get a direct ticket to the U17 Asian Cup.
The matches between U17 Malaysia - U17 Macau, and U17 Vietnam - U17 Hong Kong will both take place at 7:00 p.m. on November 26.
