At the ceremony, journalist Tang Huu Phong, Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper, reviewed the history of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press. According to him, accompanying the development of Ho Chi Minh City since its liberation, SGGP Newspaper has always strived to overcome all difficulties and hardships to meet the increasingly fast, accurate and culturally rich information needs of readers. Over the past 48 years, SGGP Newspaper has always provided complete and accurate information with a clear orientation on the security and defense situation, protection of sovereignty , territorial integrity and territorial waters of the Fatherland; the economic, social and cultural development of our country and updated international information.

The newspaper demonstrates its mettle, role and responsibility. It is always the leading force, promptly reflecting the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of the people; discovering and encouraging new factors, advanced models and achievements in the renovation process of the country in general and of Ho Chi Minh City in particular. At the same time, praising and glorifying the beautiful and the noble is an important responsibility, but fighting fiercely and effectively against the bad and the toxic things in social life is always the top priority of SGGP Newspaper.
Regarding the 2022-2023 Shining Vietnamese Values contest, the contest received more than 200 articles and more than 50 video clips from authors. Thereby, 16 winning works were selected from 65 articles and 12 video clips published in SGGP Newspaper publications. The Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to the work "The Person Who Does Not Carry a Mission" by author Minh Nguyen.

With the desire to continue spreading the positive values of the Shining Vietnamese Values Contest 2022-2023, SGGP Newspaper cooperated with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to launch the Shining Vietnamese Values Contest 2023-2025.
Journalist Tang Huu Phong informed that the contest aims to contribute to honoring individuals and groups with meaningful activities and outstanding achievements in all fields; encourage the creation of journalistic works and video clips depicting typical examples of good people - good deeds, new factors with outstanding work, activities, initiatives and achievements, to spread Vietnamese products and values, contribute to the development of the country, build models and standard values of Vietnamese people in the new era.
