(TN&MT) - On the morning of April 1, at Dong Tac fishing port, Phu Dong ward, Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen province, 200 freshwater tanks with a capacity of 1,200 liters were presented by the Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper to local fishermen going offshore.
Attending the ceremony, on behalf of Phu Yen province and its affiliated units, there were: Ms. Cao Thi Hoa An, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Ms. Dinh Thi Thu Thanh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee; Mr. Bui Thanh Toan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Ms. Ho Thi Nguyen Thao, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Dao Pham Hoang Quyen, Editor-in-Chief of Phu Yen Newspaper, Chairwoman of Phu Yen Provincial Journalists Association; Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Mr. Nguyen Cong Thanh, Vice Chairman of Tuy Hoa City People's Committee, Colonel Truong Thien An, Deputy Political Commissar of the Phu Yen Provincial Border Guard Command and leaders of local units.

Over the past years, TN&MT Newspaper, with the support of Thien Tam Fund - Vingroup Corporation, has donated nearly 1,000 freshwater tanks to fishermen in some coastal provinces such as Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Thuan.
Fishermen are not only those who go out to sea to earn a living and contribute to society, but they are also those on the front lines to preserve and affirm the sovereignty of the beloved sea and islands of the Fatherland. Fishermen are considered “living milestones” at sea, so supporting fishermen to confidently go out to sea and exploit aquatic products is a way to protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands.
At Dong Tac fishing port, Phu Dong ward, Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen province, TN&MT Newspaper presided over and coordinated with Phu Yen Newspaper, Phu Yen Provincial Journalists Association, Phu Yen Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment and Thien Tam Fund - Vingroup Corporation to organize the ceremony of presenting fresh water tanks to fishing households in Tuy Hoa city. 200 fresh water tanks with a capacity of 1,200 liters were handed over to each fishing household right here.
On behalf of the leaders of Tuy Hoa City People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Cong Thanh, Vice Chairman of Tuy Hoa City People's Committee, expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper and the sponsor Vingroup Corporation for presenting this meaningful gift; at the same time, for caring, encouraging, and accompanying fishermen to continue to go out to sea, to rise up in life, to both develop the economy and participate in preserving the homeland's sea and islands, and to protect the Fatherland.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Thanh suggested that the leaders of the authorities of the coastal wards and communes of Tuy Hoa city need to step up propaganda and guidance so that fishermen can grasp and strictly comply with regulations in the fields of resource management, environmental protection, and climate change response; strictly comply with the provisions of Vietnamese and international laws; clearly understand and raise awareness of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland, worthy of the role of "Mobile sovereignty markers at sea".
On behalf of the people receiving the gift this time, Ms. Dang Vi Sang of Phu Dong ward was moved to thank the meaningful gift that the Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper presented, and affirmed that she and the fishermen would need to carefully preserve and use it for a long time to best promote its function and efficiency in storing fresh water for sea trips, worthy of the role of "Mobile sovereignty markers at sea".
Continuing the series of events in Phu Yen province, Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper and Phu Yen Newspaper, Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Phu Yen province will also donate 125 fresh water tanks to fishermen in Dong Hoa town and 75 tanks to Tuy An district in the next few days.
