Arrested 3 subjects impersonating police officers to rob 2 million USD

According to information from the Ministry of Public Security, the Criminal Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) has just coordinated with the Criminal Police Department of Gia Lai province to arrest subjects impersonating police officers who entered people's houses to rob 2 million USD.

Previously, at around 5:00 p.m. on March 11, a particularly serious crime occurred in Ben Cau district, Tay Ninh province. A group of people impersonating police officers entered the house of Ms. Phan Thi My Lieu (born in 1982) and robbed her of 2 million USD.

After receiving the information, determining the particularly serious nature of the case and the reckless nature of the subjects, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister, Head of the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security, directed the Criminal Police Department to urgently coordinate with the Tay Ninh Provincial Police and professional units of the Ministry of Public Security, the local police of Gia Lai, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Thuan, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh, the Border Guard force... to synchronously deploy measures, resolutely pursue the perpetrators, and recover the stolen property.

Through investigation, the police identified the subjects Nguyen Tuan Anh (born in 1993, hometown Ninh Binh), Nguyen Anh Duy (born in 1993, hometown Binh Dinh) and Dao Xuan Loc (born in 1991, hometown Dong Nai) colluded with the victim's biological son to stage the situation, impersonating the police force to come to the victim's house, demanding to present documents and explain the origin of the money. At the same time, they asked the victim to go to the police headquarters to work.

When the victim entered the dressing room, the subjects quickly took all the money and escaped. After committing the crime, the subjects fled and cut off contact with the victim's son in order to appropriate all the stolen money. The subjects in the case discussed and colluded closely with each other, using many tricks to commit the crime, avoid, disperse assets, and conceal the crime in order to avoid being caught by the authorities.

On March 21, the Investigation Police Agency of Tay Ninh Province Police issued special dangerous, nationwide wanted decisions for: Nguyen Anh Duy, Dao Xuan Loc, Nguyen Tuan Anh for the crime of "Robbery" as prescribed in Clause 4, Article 168 of the Penal Code.

The above subjects have criminal records, are reckless, have lived in Cambodia and have experience dealing with authorities.

Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Public Security's leadership, with the motto of not letting the subjects escape abroad, continue to commit crimes or disperse the victims' assets, after determining the direction of movement of the group of subjects, the Criminal Police Department coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security's professional departments and the Public Security of provinces and cities to focus on investigating the group of subjects.

At 12:00 on March 24, the Criminal Police Department coordinated with the Criminal Police Department of Gia Lai province to arrest these subjects while they were hiding in a camp in Nong Truong village, Iagrai commune, Chu Se district, Gia Lai province; confiscated all the exhibits of the case and 3 cars used by the group to escape.

The police also summoned those who concealed crimes and failed to report crimes for handling according to the provisions of law.

Currently, the Criminal Police Department continues to guide and closely coordinate with Tay Ninh Provincial Police and relevant units and localities to investigate and expand the case.
