VietinBank increases credit package size, promotes investment in forestry and fishery sector

Implementing the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister in Resolution No. 46/NQ-CP dated March 8, 2025, Directive No. 05/CT-TTg dated March 1, 2025 and the direction of the State Bank of Vietnam, VietinBank has registered to implement a preferential credit program for the forestry and fishery sector with a scale of up to VND 12,000 billion, contributing to removing difficulties for businesses and people and promoting economic growth.

From August 2023, VietinBank is one of the first banks to implement a preferential credit program for the forestry and fishery sector with an initial registered scale of VND 1,500 billion, with a preferential interest rate at least 1.0% - 2.0% lower per year than the average lending rate for the same term. Realizing the large capital demand from the market and positive signals from the program, in 2024, VietinBank has twice registered with the State Bank, increasing the scale of participation in the program to VND 6,000 billion.

In 2025, implementing the direction of the Government, the Prime Minister and the State Bank on expanding and adjusting the scale of the Credit Program for the agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors to a maximum of VND 100,000 billion, VietinBank continues to register to increase the scale of participation in the program to VND 12,000 billion, supporting investment capital for the development of the forestry and fishery sector.

Along with that, VietinBank is also implementing many preferential credit programs for many fields, industries and customers of small and medium enterprises, import-export enterprises, individual customers, etc. Individual customers, enterprises engaged in farming, processing, exporting and production and business activities in the fields of agriculture, forestry and fishery can also participate in preferential loans under these programs.

Not only expanding the scale of preferential credit capital, VietinBank also focuses on improving access to credit for people and businesses. VietinBank commits to continue simplifying loan procedures through digital transformation and applying technology in credit activities, helping customers in the forestry and fishery sectors to access capital conveniently and quickly.
