The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense sent soldiers who are officers, students, and professional soldiers who are exemplary in quality, capacity, health, and physique from the Army Officer School 1 and a number of agencies, units, and representatives of officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army to participate in the Victory Day Parade at Red Square in Moscow, Russia.
Major General Nguyen Van Thanh - Deputy Principal of Army Officer School 1, Head of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) delegation participating in the parade in the Russian Federation, said that Vietnam's parade group has 68 official members and 5 reserve members. These are soldiers selected from thousands of officers, lecturers and students of Army Officer School 1, under the direction of the Minister of National Defense.
“The soldiers participating in the parade are between 19 and 30 years old and 1m80 or taller. These are officers, lecturers, and students with well-proportioned bodies, who can perform command movements quickly, strongly, and accurately.”
According to Major General Nguyen Van Thanh, officers and students of the Army Officer School 1 were honored to walk on the historic Red Square. This is a great source of pride, demonstrating the spirit, will and mettle of Uncle Ho's soldiers.
