According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the 2025 university and college entrance exam recorded 849,544 candidates registering for admission, with the total number of wishes reaching a record high of 7,615,560. On average, each candidate registered up to 8.96 wishes, reflecting the high competition and diversity in candidates' choices of majors and schools.
Two virtual filter groups North - South
Along with the general virtual filtering process on the system of the Ministry of Education and Training , universities also participate in two regional virtual filtering groups. In which, Hanoi University of Science and Technology continues to be assigned to chair the Northern recruitment group with the participation of 65 training institutions. The Southern virtual filtering group is coordinated by Ho Chi Minh City National University.
The goal of the virtual filtering process is to ensure that each candidate is only admitted to a maximum of one wish, based on the principle of considering from the first wish to the last wish. This helps to limit the situation of "virtual admission" and supports schools in building accurate and favorable enrollment plans.
Virtual filtering schedule and benchmark publication
As planned, on August 16, training facilities uploaded candidate data to the system to begin the admission process.
August 17: The system conducts the first virtual filtering from 7am, the results are returned on the same day.
From August 18 to 20: the system will filter virtual twice a day until completed.
5:00 p.m. August 20: Schools must enter admission scores (standard scores) and admission results into the system.
Right after this time, many schools may begin announcing the first round of admission scores.
Announcement of benchmark scores from August 20 to 22
The Ministry of Education and Training has set the deadline for all schools to announce the results of the first round of admissions before 5:00 p.m. on August 22. However, some major universities said they will announce the benchmark scores on August 20 or 21, including: Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi University of Industry, Banking Academy, Hanoi University...
Admissions experts recommend that candidates regularly monitor announcements from schools and the Ministry of Education and Training system to accurately grasp the time of announcement of benchmark scores, and at the same time prepare for the next step of confirming admission.
