Arsonist arrested in Bac Giang

NDO - On the night of May 27, the professional units of Bac Giang Police concentrated their forces and applied synchronous professional measures to successfully capture the arsonist who burned down 4 houses in My Dien 2 residential group, Nenh ward, Viet Yen town.

Previously, on May 26, the Criminal Police Department ( Bac Giang Provincial Police) issued a notice to search for Nguyen Van Thu (born in 1991), permanent residence in Hoang Tien ward, Chi Linh city (Hai Duong); temporary residence in My Dien 2 residential group, Nenh ward, who committed the act of arson that caused the fire.

On May 27, soldiers from the Criminal Police Department and the Luc Son Commune Police, Luc Nam District, determined that the suspect was hiding in a planted forest area in Vinh Tan Village, Luc Son Commune, more than 70 km from the scene of the incident, and successfully organized a siege and arrest.

Previously, at 2:00 a.m. on May 26, a fire broke out at a kiosk and house in My Dien 2 residential group. The fire quickly spread to 4 houses, which are combined with a business of repairing motorbikes and electric motorbikes of the following households: Le Van Hung, Bui Thi Hang, Nguyen Duc Thu, and Nguyen Van Ngoan.

The Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Provincial Police), Nenh Ward Police and local people organized fire fighting and promptly extinguished the fire.

The fire did not cause any human casualties, but preliminary property damage was estimated at about 13 billion VND.

Urgently verifying and investigating, using professional measures, Bac Giang Provincial Police identified the arsonist as Nguyen Van Thu.

However, after committing the crime, the subject quickly fled the area.

After nearly two days on the run, Nguyen Van Thu was arrested.

The provincial police have taken the subject to headquarters, taken statements, and investigated to clarify the cause of the incident.
