On August 5, a source from Bao Lam District Police (Lam Dong) said that the unit had prosecuted and temporarily detained Mr. Tran Van Chuong (39 years old), an employee of the Database Professional Department, under the Center for Geotechnical Technology, Department of Land Registration, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to investigate the crime of Bribery.

The initial investigation agency determined that Mr. Chuong had repeatedly bribed Mr. Vu Chi Huu (former Director of the Branch of the Land Registration Office of Bao Lam District) to change the results of land measurement and update land records in this district. On July 4, Mr. Huu was prosecuted and temporarily detained for the crime of "Accepting bribes".
Also detained with Mr. Chuong this time were Mr. Le Van Sang (44 years old, residing in Hoang Mai district, Hanoi ) and Mr. Do Ngoc Chau (38 years old, residing in Thuong Tin district, Hanoi). These two people have just been prosecuted by Bao Lam district police for additional charges of forgery in work.
Mr. Sang and Mr. Chau were the former Head and Deputy Head of the Database Operations Department under the Center for Geotechnical Engineering under the Department of Land Registration of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
Previously, on March 8, these two officials were prosecuted for accepting bribes but were released on bail.
Mr. Vu Chi Huu was arrested to investigate bribery.
According to the initial investigation results of Bao Lam District Police, Mr. Sang and Mr. Chau were responsible for measuring to update and correct land use and management maps as well as records of changes in Bao Lam District.
During the performance of their duties, these two officers directly edited and updated the content of documents (land records) to distort the content.
Thus, regarding the case of falsifying land records in Bao Lam district, the district police have initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, and temporarily detained 6 officers and employees to investigate the acts of "Giving bribes", "Receiving bribes" and "Forgery in work".
The six suspects include Vu Chi Huu; Ta Duy Phuoc (39 years old, an officer of the Branch Office of Land Registration of Bao Lam district; Luong Cong Vu (38 years old, a cadastral officer of Loc Thang town, Bao Lam district); Le Van Sang, Do Ngoc Chau and Tran Van Chuong (all are officers of the Center for Geodetic Technology, under the Department of Land Registration of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment).
Authorities read the warrant for the temporary detention of Mr. Ta Duy Phuoc.
Bao Lam District Police continue to expand the investigation to clarify other related people and handle them according to the provisions of law.
