Arrest of General Director of Song Hong Corporation related to AIC 'big case'

On the morning of January 9, the Ministry of Public Security announced that the Department of Investigation Police on Crimes of Corruption, Economy, and Smuggling (C03) of the Ministry of Public Security has just issued a decision to prosecute, order the temporary detention and search of Mr. La Tuan Hung for the crime of "violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences", stipulated in Clause 3, Article 222 of the Penal Code.

According to the Ministry of Public Security, C03 initially determined that the violations of the accused Hung were related to AIC Company and the Medical Construction Project Management Board (Bac Ninh Provincial Department of Health).

This is the latest development in the process of expanding the investigation of the case. This case was prosecuted on September 20, 2023, after C03 identified bidding violations related to AIC Company and the Medical Construction Project Management Board ( Bac Ninh Provincial Department of Health) and related units.

The Ministry of Public Security said that the decisions and prosecution orders against Mr. La Tuan Hung were served and executed after being approved by the Supreme People's Procuracy.

C03 is expanding the investigation of the case and applying measures to thoroughly recover assets for the State.

Previously, in September 2023, C03 prosecuted and temporarily detained defendant Tran Van Tuynh, former Director of the Medical Construction Project Management Board (Bac Ninh Provincial Department of Health), for the crime of "violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences", as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 222 of the Penal Code.

For the same crime, C03 also prosecuted and temporarily detained the following defendants: Nguyen Dang An, former Head of the General Planning Department (Medical Construction Project Management Board, Bac Ninh Provincial Department of Health); Nguyen Kim Huan, former Deputy Head of the General Planning Department (Medical Construction Project Management Board, Bac Ninh Provincial Department of Health); Dang Xuan Minh, Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of BTCVALUE Valuation Joint Stock Company; Nguyen Hong Son, Deputy General Director of AIC Company; Nguyen Viet Toan and Nguyen Dang Linh, all former employees of AIC Company.
