Recent information about HAGL’s financial situation is very positive as the debt burden is gradually “lessening”, making fans happy for Mr. Duc. But that is with HAGL’s business problem.
Looking at the football team, the "asset" that Mr. Duc once declared that he could give up everything but not football, it feels like the owner of HAGL seems to ignore it, at least in the media as well as solutions to hopefully change the fate of his beloved team.
In fact, HAGL has been weak for several seasons now and is even weaker. Many key players such as Quang Nho, Ngoc Quang, Quoc Viet… have left, leaving a huge gap in expertise. The players trained by HAGL are no longer of the quality as insiders have commented.
If anything, it only has a "virtual" value to reassure fans before the V.League 2025/26. It can be seen that in the V.League, many teams have weak domestic forces, but importantly, they find quality foreign soldiers to create a solid backbone. As for HAGL, the quality of this "mercenary" force is currently very bad.
Center back Jairo showed signs of declining form, being tightly controlled by the opponent every time he participated in a set piece situation, so he could not score. Midfielder Marcel was also lackluster. The remaining two foreign players were "nowhere to be seen". In the recent match against Hai Phong , midfielder Fraga Rodrigo started on the bench and entered the field in the 45th minute. Striker Dos Santos Gabriel has only played 3 matches since the beginning of the season.
With a weak squad, in terms of squad quality, HAGL cannot cause any trouble for the opponent. The team's playing style this season is also not clear. It seems that the duo of Technical Director Vu Tien Thanh and Coach Le Quang Trai are losing direction in shaping HAGL's playing style when the attack is not clear, the defense is not clear either.

With that “sluggish” tactic, HAGL can only fool themselves but cannot cause any trouble for the opponent. It is not wrong to say that the team from the mountain town plays like… puppets controlled by the opponent.
With those technical problems, it is understandable that HAGL played very poorly. The team from the mountain town had 6 consecutive matches without a win, conceding 8 goals and especially, only scoring 1 goal, having to finish at the bottom of the table.
Up to this point, V.League 2025/26 has witnessed strong changes in the technical area. Some coaches resigned out of pride due to the poor performance of their team, such as Mr. Phan Nhu Thuat of SLNA. Some bosses did not want to see their team sink deeper into crisis, so they decided to replace both the leadership team and the head coach. Mr. Hien of Hanoi is a typical example. Becamex TP.HCM also changed coaches when they saw their team's performance decline after the instability.
It is worth mentioning that most teams have achieved positive results after changing coaches. SLNA got a point against the "big guy" CAHN under the new coach Van Sy Son. Becamex TP.HCM defeated defending champion Nam Dinh right at the opponent's field when led by coach Dang Tran Chinh.
HAGL’s situation is now even worse than the above teams. Fans are really anxious about the prospect of relegation of their team. Instead, they are calling on Mr. Duc to reform the team’s technical area in the hope of creating a breakthrough in playing style when the team’s strength cannot be changed.
Obviously, HAGL can only hope to create a breakthrough once Mr. Duc steps in to save the situation before it's too late.
