Dr. Doan Thu Tra - Chairman of the Bach Mai Hospital Union shared that the moment she held the baby's hand when he was brought safely to the ground, she was so moved that she wanted to cry, her heart felt like it was being squeezed.
"As a mother, I understand when a child feels abandoned, has no place to return to, no home with parental care... Self-pity and despair can extinguish all will to live.
So, I convinced her with all the love and heart of a mother, the heart of a doctor to make her understand that she is not alone, to let her know that this life has many good things ahead," Dr. Tra shared.

Earlier, on the afternoon of July 14, at Bach Mai Hospital, doctors and residents were suffocated with worry when they saw a little girl standing alone on the top floor of the hospital building.
The hospital and local residents quickly notified the authorities. The rescue team, along with doctors, nurses, and hospital security staff, worked together in harmony and patiently tried to approach, encourage, persuade, and rescue the child.
After 3 hours of being in the rain, patiently persuading and encouraging... the baby finally got down and held the hands of the doctors, police officers and rescue workers.
Dr. Tra shared that at that time, she did not see the child as a stranger, but as her own child. Dr. Tra told the girl that there were many people who loved her, as long as she knew how to cherish life, she would go to school and continue to write her dreams...
As promised, to find a home for the child, on the afternoon of July 15, representatives of Bach Mai Hospital, Kim Lien Ward Police, and the Ward People's Committee handed the child over to the Social Work Center and the Hanoi Children's Support Fund.

Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Xuan Co, Director of Bach Mai Hospital, shared: "As a physician who has spent 30 years with patients in critical condition, I know that mental wounds are much more difficult to heal than physical pain.
But above all, as a father, my heart ached when I saw his desperate eyes. We must act with the cool head of a leader, but with the warm heart of a father and mother - where there is no distance between the patient and the child we need to protect."
Therefore, immediately after removing the baby from the dangerous position, the hospital took care of the baby and found a home for the baby.
The Director of Bach Mai Hospital emphasized that the hospital is committed to accompanying the child for a long time. The doctors and nurses are not only the place to save the child today, but will also be the bridge for the child to study, fully enjoy the rights of children and have an independent future.
At the new home, you will be cared for, educated and especially supported to continue your unfinished education.
