While playing with friends, a 13-year-old boy was stabbed in the skull and had to be rushed to the hospital.
On January 15th, Kon Tum Provincial General Hospital announced that they had successfully saved the life of a child who had been stabbed in the skull.
Previously, on January 6th, A.Ph (13 years old, residing in Dak Mon commune, Dak Glei district, Kon Tum province) was brought to Kon Tum Provincial General Hospital with a knife blade piercing her skull.
According to family members, on the morning of the same day, A.Ph was playing with friends and accidentally got a knife blade stuck deep in the top of his head.
The child was stabbed in the skull while playing with a friend.

Immediately upon admission, the patient received prompt treatment from doctors, followed by consultation and emergency surgery to remove the foreign object and blood clot from the brain. After more than an hour of surgery, the doctors successfully removed a foreign object, a knife blade, embedded approximately 5 cm deep in the skull, and 30 ml of blood clot from the patient's brain tissue.
According to Dr. Nguyen Thanh Lam (Kon Tum Provincial General Hospital), the patient was admitted in a critical condition, with a foreign object causing deep damage to the skull. Doctors performed procedures to remove the foreign object, control bleeding from the cerebral veins, remove brain tissue damage, and remove blood clots in the brain parenchyma.
Following surgery, the patient's condition is stable, they are alert, breathing independently, and showing no signs of shock or paralysis.
The patient is currently receiving further treatment at the Trauma Surgery Department of Kon Tum Provincial General Hospital.
