Khanh Hoa General Hospital receives cleft lip and palate treatment technique

On the evening of July 18, specialist doctor Phan Huu Chinh - Director of Khanh Hoa General Hospital said that, implementing Project 1816 (transferring techniques to lower levels), a team of experts from the Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology in Ho Chi Minh City has just transferred the technique of treating cleft lip and palate to the Department of Odonto-Stomatology of the hospital. This is the 4th transfer between the 2 hospitals.

This time, the expert team screened 13 patients in and outside the province with the above disease. Thereby, 9 patients were eligible for surgery. Dr. Do Tien Hai, Specialist II - Head of the Department of Plastic Microsurgery, Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology, Ho Chi Minh City - the direct transferor affirmed that he will continue to accompany Khanh Hoa General Hospital in the technology transfer activities.

In this transfer, all accommodation and travel expenses of the patients were fully sponsored by the family of Mr. Ho Hoang Liem ( Da Nang City). Mr. Liem's family had accompanied Khanh Hoa General Hospital in the above pathology surgery program in previous years. In addition, some benefactors in Khanh Hoa province donated 2 million VND to each of the 12 patients.

Surgery to treat cleft lip and palate for patients.

From 2018 to present, the Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology in Ho Chi Minh City has also transferred surgical techniques: Removing submandibular salivary gland stones; treating zygomatic fractures with bone and screw combination; treating mandibular fractures; implant placement; cutting and treating cysts for upper and lower jaws; treating complete and incomplete cleft lip and palate; removing parotid salivary gland tumors while preserving the VII nerve... to the Department of Odonto-Stomatology, Khanh Hoa General Hospital.

These are steps forward in receiving and successfully implementing specialized techniques for Khanh Hoa General Hospital to progress to become a regional hospital of the South Central Coast.
