Truong Sa Island infirmary promptly provided emergency aid to fishermen injured by battery explosion

At noon on August 21, Truong Sa Island Infirmary (Truong Sa Special Zone) received and treated a fisherman injured by a battery explosion.

Accordingly, on the afternoon of August 20, while charging a battery on a fishing boat, Mr. Nguyen Thuong (born in 1981, Quang Ngai province), a fisherman on fishing boat QNg 94695 TS, was injured when the battery suddenly exploded, causing severe eye burns.

The patient was taken to the island infirmary for emergency care.

At around 12:20 p.m. on August 21, the patient was admitted to Truong Sa Island Infirmary in a state of severe pain, red eyes, watery eyes, and difficulty seeing. Doctors at the infirmary quickly examined and diagnosed that the patient had corneal and conjunctival injuries in both eyes due to the battery explosion, with a risk of vision loss. Immediately, the patient was given eye wash, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, pain relievers, and close monitoring.
