A man died after being stung more than 100 times by wasps.

On the afternoon of May 17, the leader of Quach Pham commune (Dam Doi district, Ca Mau province) confirmed that Mr. NXD (former Deputy Director of Dam Doi district Political Center, residing in Quach Pham commune) died after being stung by a wasp.

Initial information said that at noon on May 14, Mr. D. went fishing about 8km from home. While fishing, he unfortunately hit a wasp nest and was stung all over his body, more than 100 times.

After escaping the beehive area, Mr. D. called his relatives to take him home. Mr. D. was taken to the commune health station for first aid by his family, then transferred to Cai Nuoc District General Hospital for emergency treatment.

However, due to multiple wasp stings and serious complications, Mr. D. was transferred to a higher-level hospital (in Can Tho City) for treatment. The patient was then sent home and died shortly thereafter.

Also on May 17, Dam Doi District Party Committee decided to establish a funeral organizing committee for Mr. D..
