Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen visits wounded and sick soldiers

Mr. Nguyen Van Nen affirmed that war invalids, sick soldiers and people with meritorious services are a great source of encouragement and motivation for today's generation to continue to contribute, build and protect the Fatherland. Today's generation always remembers and is grateful for the dedication, sacrifice and blood contributions of previous generations so that our country can have the foundation, potential, position and international prestige as it is today.

On the afternoon of July 22, a Central working delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Van Nen - Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee - visited and presented gifts to the Long Dat Nursing Center for War Invalids and Meritorious People (Ho Chi Minh City), on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025).

Also joining the delegation were Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Cao Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Unions Ngo Van Cuong, and leaders of departments and branches of Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nen sent his regards and deep gratitude to the wounded and sick soldiers, people with meritorious services, families, relatives of the wounded and sick soldiers and the medical team of the center who have shared hardships, supported, shared and helped the wounded and sick soldiers firmly overcome the illness and pain caused by the wounds of war.

Mr. Nen affirmed that war invalids, sick soldiers and people with meritorious services are a great source of encouragement and motivation for today's generation to continue to contribute, build and protect the Fatherland. Mr. Nguyen Van Nen expressed his hope that war invalids, sick soldiers and people with meritorious services will continue to overcome difficulties and illnesses to continue to live happily and healthily and join the country in entering an era of national growth.

Along with that, today's next generation always reminds themselves to continue living, fighting, working, and studying following the example of Uncle Ho and previous generations, to forever be worthy of the moral tradition of "remembering the source of water when drinking water".

The Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee also asked the team of doctors, officers and staff of the Long Dat Nursing Center for War Invalids and People with Meritorious Services to continue to provide better care for war invalids, sick soldiers and people with meritorious services.

Mr. Nen said that Ho Chi Minh City will pay attention to investing and creating more favorable conditions for the center to perform its functions and tasks well, and provide more complete care so that people with meritorious services have a better and more comfortable living environment and space.

Long Dat Nursing Center for War Invalids and Meritorious People was established in 1977, under the Department of Meritorious People, Ministry of Interior. This place nurtures and rehabilitates 1/4 of war invalids and seriously ill soldiers, with a body injury rate of over 81%.

In addition, the center is also a place for nursing and rehabilitation for meritorious people nationwide, with 2,000 to 3,000 meritorious people receiving care at the center each year.

Currently, the center cares for and treats 31 wounded soldiers from 12 provinces and cities nationwide and manages the health of 14 wounded soldiers from Ho Chi Minh City.
