15th Army Corps: A typical example of skillful mass mobilization

(GLO)- In the period of 2021-2025, the 15th Army Corps was highly appreciated by the Ministry of National Defense for its skillful mass mobilization movement. Typical models include the "Cohesive Households", the "Sunshine of the Village" and "Cultural Communal House" projects, contributing to consolidating the grassroots political system and improving the lives of people in border areas.

Many good and creative models

This year, turning 70 years old, having been a commune official for more than 30 years and a village elder for nearly 10 years, Mr. Ro Cham Chich (Ben village, Ia Chia commune) did not expect that the people of his commune would have a beautiful and modern cultural communal house like today.

He shared: “The people of my commune are very grateful to the Ministry of National Defense and the 15th Army Corps. Without that help, it would be a long time before the people would have such a beautiful communal house.”

The Ia Chia communal cultural communal house project has an investment cost of more than 3 billion VND, built by Army Corps 15 as a gift to the commune government and people. This is one of four communal cultural communal houses supported by the Ministry of National Defense and Army Corps 15 to be built in the province, with a total cost of more than 12 billion VND.

In Chu Ko village (Ia Puch commune), there are also many beautiful stories about sharing and caring from the "Connecting Households" model. In 2023, the family of Lo Van Que (Muong ethnic group, rubber latex tappers) became twin brothers with the family of Siu Ghin (Jrai ethnic group). Since then, the two families have not only helped each other tap rubber latex but also supported each other in crops and family economic development.

Mr. Lo Van Que said: “Once connected, the two families consider each other as blood brothers, and when one family has a job, they come to help. My family came from Thanh Hoa to start a business, not yet familiar with customs and practices, but was guided a lot by Mr. Siu Ghin’s family. The two families often encourage each other to take care of production, overcome illness and hardship to rise up in life.”

The “Cohesive Households” model was born based on the political security situation, customs and socio-economic life in the localities, especially after the two riots in February 2001 and April 2004 in the Central Highlands.

In 2006, Corps 15 directed Company 74 to deploy the model with the first 30 pairs of households. To date, the model has been replicated throughout the Corps with more than 4,300 pairs of households.

Joining hands for the lives of people in border areas

Colonel Khuat Ba Cao - Party Committee Secretary, Deputy Commander of the 15th Corps - said: "To build a good mass mobilization unit, the Party Committee and the Corps Command focus on leading and directing agencies and units to thoroughly grasp and study Ho Chi Minh's ideology and the Party's resolutions, directives and conclusions on mass mobilization work. We focus on innovating the forms and methods of propaganda and mobilization; at the same time, concretizing with practical measures to organize effective mass mobilization work at all levels".

Currently, Corps 15 participates in consolidating the political system in 31 communes and wards, 197 Party cells and 85 other socio-political organizations; arranging 67 officers and soldiers to participate in local organizations.

Every year, the Corps also combines the unit's emulation movement with the movement: Joining hands to build new rural areas; Joining hands for the poor - Leaving no one behind; All people unite to build a cultural life; All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

Over the past 5 years, the unit has mobilized nearly 250,000 working days to help villages clean up, renovate mixed gardens, develop production, overcome the consequences of natural disasters, droughts, and epidemics; clear more than 600 km of border patrol roads; and plant more than 40,000 trees and fruit trees of all kinds.

The Corps supported civil works with a total cost of 12.73 billion VND; invested in repairing and renovating 165.3 km of roads and 85 bridges worth nearly 120 billion VND...

Major General Hoang Van Sy - Commander of the 15th Corps - said: "The Corps has led, directed, and implemented many practical and effective models of mass mobilization, which have been recognized by the Ministry of National Defense, Party committees, local authorities, and the people. In the coming time, we will continue to implement new methods of mass mobilization to care for people's lives and support localities in building new rural areas."
