The program was attended by leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province; representatives of establishments and businesses trading 034 avocado in Lam Dong province and Ho Chi Minh City.

At the Program, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phuc - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province outlined the potentials and strengths of avocado 034.

The program "Avocado 034 Lam Dong - Green journey with Bach Hoa Xanh" just took place in Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City).

Lam Dong, with its unique climate and soil advantages, is an ideal land for agricultural and forestry production, especially high-quality agricultural products with prestigious brands in the market. In particular, 034 avocado - a specialty avocado variety of the province - has affirmed its position with large output and outstanding quality. Currently, the whole province has about 9,500 hectares of avocado, of which 6,600 hectares are being harvested, achieving an average yield of 15 tons/crop/ha. The total annual avocado output is estimated at about 105,000 tons, with 034 avocado accounting for 80%, booth avocado accounting for 10%, and other avocado varieties accounting for the remainder.

However, in recent times, despite the large output, the consumption of 034 avocado in Lam Dong has still encountered many difficulties and challenges. The purchasing and processing facilities in the province are still limited, meeting only a small portion of the output. The consumption market is mainly focused on the domestic market, with a small amount being exported to Thailand and Cambodia. The selling price of 034 avocado, once a "feverish" specialty product, is currently falling sharply, directly affecting the income of farmers and production enterprises.

In order to support farmers and businesses in Lam Dong province in promoting and consuming 034 avocado, the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province have coordinated with major provinces and cities, especially the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City and Bach Hoa Xanh Trading Joint Stock Company to organize the program "034 Lam Dong Avocado - Green journey with Bach Hoa Xanh".

Thereby, committing to ensure the quality as well as food safety standards of 034 avocado, replicating the high-tech avocado production model to ensure supply output. Lam Dong province is ready to immediately eliminate units that do not meet standards and do not comply with the terms of the signed contract. Aiming to build and develop a clean, sustainable agricultural ecosystem for agricultural products in general and 034 avocado in particular.

On that basis, Lam Dong aims to bring 034 avocado to domestic and foreign consumers. Strengthen the connection between manufacturers, distributors and retail systems. Increase the value of agricultural products, build a transparent and sustainable supply chain.

Currently, Lam Dong province has about 9,500 hectares of avocado, of which about 6,600 hectares are in harvest.
