Vietcombank introduces Apple Pay to Vietcombank JCB international cardholders

Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam ( Vietcombank ) officially introduces Apple Pay to Vietcombank JCB international cardholders in Vietnam. Apple Pay is an easy, secure and private payment method when paying in stores, in apps and online.

To pay in-store, customers simply double-press the side button, authenticate, and hold their iPhone or Apple Watch near the reader (with the contactless icon) of a card-accepting device to make a contactless payment. Each Apple Pay transaction is secured with Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode, along with a unique, one-time dynamic security code. Apple Pay is widely accepted at convenience stores, pharmacies, restaurants, cafes, retail stores, taxis, and more.

Ms. Doan Hong Nhung, Director of Vietcombank Retail Division shared: “Vietcombank officially continues to expand Apple Pay to JCB international cardholders, affirming our commitment to promoting digitalization of banking operations, while providing customers with a modern, flexible and secure payment experience. As one of the first banks in Vietnam to provide Apple Pay for both international and domestic cards - including Visa, JCB and Napas cards - we will continue to expand the integration of other card brands to fully meet the needs of customers”.

Security and privacy are at the core of Apple Pay. When customers use their JCB international card with Apple Pay, the actual card number is not stored on the device or on Apple servers. Instead, a unique device account number is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored in the Secure Element - an industry-standard certified chip that securely stores payment information on the device.

Apple Pay is easy to set up. On iPhone, customers can add Vietcombank JCB international card to Apple Pay directly on the VCB Digibank app homepage by tapping the Apple Pay icon; or open the Wallet app, tap '+' and follow the instructions to add the card. After adding the card to iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, Mac, customers can use Apple Pay on that device immediately.

When using Vietcombank JCB card with Apple Pay, in addition to special offers exclusively for Apple Pay (650K cashback when adding Vietcombank JCB card and spending on Apple Pay), customers still enjoy full incentives for Vietcombank JCB card such as: Up to 30% discount at more than 100 restaurants in Vietnam...
