Upon assessing the situation, local police forces promptly implemented emergency response plans. During the heavy rain, many officers braved the hardships, wading through floodwaters to help people move their belongings and assist the elderly and children to safety.
In the communes of Bac Binh, Quang Tin, Tuyen Quang , Ham Thanh, and some inner-city wards of Phan Thiet, the police force has set up warning checkpoints and barricades at deeply flooded areas and areas at risk of landslides; at the same time, they are disseminating information and reminding people not to cross streams and overflow bridges during floods.
