The most striking feature of Hang But Cave is a central stalactite formation, measuring 1.5 meters in height and 2 meters in width, shaped like a meditating Buddha. Under the flashlight beam, the image of the rock formation appears in a mystical atmosphere, bringing a sense of tranquility and mystery to visitors.

According to tourist Trinh Van Dong, the experience of riding in a hand-rowed boat and admiring the unique stalactite formations firsthand was fascinating. He said that many people were surprised to find a stalactite resembling the image of Buddha in the heart of the cave.
Legends and natural beauty
The name Hang But (Buddha Cave) is associated with a local legend. According to the story, during times of famine, people sought a way to reach a fertile valley through this cave. One day, an old man with a long white beard guided them safely through the cave. When they returned to thank him, they found no trace of the old man, but instead a stone statue that looked exactly like him. From then on, the people believed it was Buddha descended to earth to help them, and they named the cave Hang But (Buddha Cave).

Besides the rock formation resembling Buddha, the cave also boasts a rich system of stalactites and stalagmites with many other unique shapes such as a kneeling elephant, a peach blossom, a tulip... It is also home to hundreds of bats, contributing to the pristine natural ecosystem.
