42 players compete in the 2025 National Table Tennis Tournament for Excellent Players

The 2025 National Table Tennis Tournament for Excellent Players officially kicked off on the evening of October 27 at the Sports Gymnasium of the Hai Phong Sports Training and Competition Center. The tournament was organized by the Vietnam Sports Department, the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong City.

The tournament attracted 42 athletes (21 male athletes, 21 female athletes) to compete in men's and women's singles. The athletes participating in the tournament are excellent athletes with high achievements, selected by the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation and the Vietnam Sports Department through national tournaments. The tournament is the final competition in the national table tennis system to find the best person.

The National Table Tennis Tournament for Outstanding Players was first held in 1988 in Hanoi and has been maintained annually until now. The tournament aims to evaluate the training and education of outstanding athletes of provinces, cities and sectors; creating conditions for athletes to compete to improve their skills, practice psychology, technical and tactical skills in competition.

Through the tournament, the scouts will select the best athletes for the national team to compete in international tournaments in the coming time. The tournament is not only an opportunity for table tennis fans to witness exciting and dramatic matches between the best and leading Vietnamese players today, but also an opportunity for young players to compete and demonstrate their talents, contributing to promoting the movement of training and competing in table tennis in provinces, cities, industries and the whole country in general.

Last year, Nguyen Anh Tu (Hanoi) and Mai Hoang My Trang ( Ho Chi Minh City) won the men's and women's titles. This year, they continue to participate in this tournament with other excellent players such as: Dinh Anh Hoang, Nguyen Duc Tuan, Doan Ba ​​Tuan Anh, Le Dinh Duc, Nguyen Thi Nga, Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh, Bui Ngoc Lan, Tran Mai Ngoc...

The 2025 National Table Tennis Tournament for Excellent Racquet Players will take place from now until October 31. Table Tennis fans across the country are waiting for the top, eye-catching matches in Hai Phong city.

Immediately after this tournament, 10 players whose names were on the call-up list announced by the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation a few days ago will officially begin training to prepare for the goal of winning a gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games.
