According to information from the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation, 10 players have been called up to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games, including 5 male players: Dinh Anh Hoang, Nguyen Anh Tu, Nguyen Duc Tuan, Doan Ba Tuan Anh, and Le Dinh Duc. In the women's category, the five selected players are Nguyen Thi Nga, Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh, Bui Ngoc Lan, Tran Mai Ngoc, and Mai Hoang My Trang. These are all experienced players who have achieved success in international and regional tournaments.

This is the first training camp in 2025 for the newly formed national table tennis team, with the sole objective of preparing for the 33rd SEA Games. Previously, the Federation proposed a list of 20 athletes, but after review, the Vietnam Department of Sports and Physical Education narrowed it down to 10 outstanding individuals who met the professional requirements and were in good form.

The team's goal is to strive for at least one gold medal at the upcoming Games. Among the players called up, Dinh Anh Hoang and Tran Mai Ngoc are the duo who brought home the gold medal in mixed doubles for Vietnam at the 32nd SEA Games held in Cambodia in 2023.

Last year, Vietnamese table tennis made its mark at the 2024 Southeast Asian Table Tennis Championships held in Malaysia with 1 gold medal, 3 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals. Highlights included the championship title won by Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh, along with medals from Nguyen Duc Tuan, Nguyen Thi Nga, Mai Hoang My Trang, and Nguyen Anh Tu, further solidifying the team's position in the region.

According to the plan, the team will gather in Hanoi on November 7th, under the leadership of head coach Vu Van Trung. The entire team will have more than a month of intensive training, focusing on technical and tactical skills, teamwork coordination, and developing an international competitive mindset.
