Vietnamese shooters defeat two 'giants' Thailand and Singapore in the rifle event.
Spectators at the shooting range in the Huamark Sports Complex (Bangkok) experienced breathtaking, action-packed moments during the gold medal match between Mong Tuyen and Tam Quang against the two Thai shooters, Sastwej Chanittha and Tortungpanich Napis. The Vietnamese shooting pair had an impressive start, taking a 6-0 lead after the first three shots. However, the home team's athletes also showed their resilience by leveling the score and then taking the lead.
The two sides battled fiercely in each round, constantly chasing the score. Before the decisive round, the score was 14-14. Ultimately, Mong Tuyen and Tam Quang showed more composure, scoring 10.7 and 10.3 respectively (a total of 21 points). Meanwhile, the two Thai shooters scored 10.7 and 10 respectively (a total of 20.7 points). In the end, the Vietnamese pair won with a score of 16-14. This was a well-deserved victory.
