Vietnam wins its first gold medal in shooting at the SEA Games after defeating Thailand.

The Vietnamese sports delegation officially won its first gold medal today (December 12) in shooting, in the mixed 10m rifle event.

The mixed 10m rifle final saw an outstanding performance from Le Thi Mong Tuyen, with Nguyen Tam Quang defeating their Thai opponents with a score of 16-14.

Immediately after the victory of the Vietnamese shooting team, the President of the Vietnam Shooting Federation, Do Van Binh, decided to award two athletes, Le Thi Mong Tuyen and Nguyen Tam Quang, 10 million VND for the individual gold medal and 15 million VND for the team gold medal, in recognition of their outstanding achievements at the 33rd SEA Games.
