Disway ID believes that if the Malaysian team is found to have committed fraud in naturalizing players, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) will face heavy penalties from FIFA, including: the team being banned from all FIFA tournaments, including the AFF Cup in Southeast Asia; canceling the results of matches with naturalized players, such as a 4-0 win over the Vietnamese team, which could result in a 0-3 loss; a fine of at least 2 million USD; a ban on recruiting and naturalizing players for 5 years; re-auditing all player data in the FAM organizational structure; firing related FAM officials...

Previously, in preparation for the second match of the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup on June 10 against the Vietnamese team, Malaysia announced 5 naturalized players with brand new origins, including 3 players of Argentinian origin, 1 player of Spanish origin and 1 player of Brazilian origin. However, most of them were suspected of having parents or grandparents of unclear Malaysian origin.

However, FAM later announced that they were confirmed by FIFA that these naturalized players were completely valid and eligible to play against the Vietnamese team. However, according to recent information from Disway ID, FIFA, through a recent investigation, said that these players had invalid origins and showed signs of falsified documents. From there, FAM could be severely punished by FIFA for its wrongdoings.

There is currently no official information from FIFA, AFC, FAM, or Malaysian newspapers confirming the above incident is true. FAM has also not commented on the information from the Indonesian newspaper.

Not long ago, the New Straits Times (Malaysia) reported that Southeast Asian fans questioned the legality of Malaysian naturalized players and asked FIFA to investigate.
