On July 15, the Department of Drug Crime Investigation ( Ministry of Public Security ) held a conference to review the first 6 months of 2025.
The report at the conference showed that: In the face of complicated developments in drug trafficking crimes in the world and the region, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department has advised on the effective, synchronous and drastic implementation of Plan 483 of the Ministry of Public Security on the peak of the general review, detection, statistics and management of drug addicts and illegal drug users, thereby creating a basis for building appropriate and effective drug prevention and control solutions for each locality and target group.

In addition, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department and local police continue to focus on fighting and destroying complex drug hotspots and fighting crime on key routes to reduce drug supply early and from afar, firmly protecting security and order.
As a result, nearly 2,400 drug-related risk points were fought and handled; nearly 600 complicated points were eliminated, and nearly 6,000 illegal drug retailers were arrested and handled according to the law.

In the first two months of implementing Plan 483, the country saw a reduction of 654 social order crimes (a decrease of 5.4%). Particularly serious drug-related crimes also decreased. In the first four months of 2025, social order crimes decreased by more than 18% compared to the same period last year.
In particular, in the first 6 months of 2025, the National Drug Crime Investigation Police force successfully fought 11,687 cases, arrested 22,863 subjects, seized nearly 150 kg of heroin, 700 kg of marijuana, 2.6 tons and 1.7 million synthetic drug pills; arrested 110 wanted subjects. Fight nearly 3,200 cases of organizing and harboring illegal drug use.
The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department alone presided over and coordinated with functional units to detect and arrest 35 cases, 207 subjects; seized evidence of 32kg of heroin, more than 1.6 tons of synthetic drugs, 228kg of cannabis buds; 3kg of cannabis essential oil; 16 liters of synthetic cannabis solution, along with hundreds of electronic cigarettes, dozens of kilograms of drug-soaked tobacco.

In recognition of the outstanding achievements in the first 6 months of 2025, the Prime Minister issued a letter of commendation; the Minister of Public Security commended 1 collective and 4 individuals. The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department commended 52 individuals. In addition, many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements were also commended at all levels.
