Vietnam Ministry of Public Security - Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs strengthen cooperation in crime prevention

Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, the high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam led by Minister To Lam and the high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation led by General Kolokoltsev Vladimir Alexandrovich held talks.

Minister To Lam said that this visit by Minister Kolokoltsev Vladimir Alexandrovich and the high-ranking delegation of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs will contribute to promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in general, bringing new impetus to develop the good traditional relationship between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in particular.

This is clearly demonstrated through regular coordination and close mutual support in building and protecting the national interests of each country.

Vietnam wishes to work with the Russian Federation to continue to develop the traditional friendship between the two countries in an increasingly effective, practical, sustainable and trustworthy manner; believes that under the leadership of President Putin and the solidarity and unity of the Russian people, the Russian Federation will continue to be stable, develop, and affirm its prestige and position in the international arena...

According to Russian Minister of Internal Affairs Kolokoltsev Vladimir Alexandrovich, the close cooperation between the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security has contributed to deepening and consolidating the friendly and traditional relationship between the two countries, making it increasingly sustainable and developing.

Russian Minister of Internal Affairs Kolokoltsev Vladimir Alexandrovich highly appreciated the cooperation results between the two ministries in recent times, which have achieved positive results in all fields, especially in the fight against and prevention of crime; hoping that in the coming time, the cooperative relationship between the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security will continue to develop to new heights.

To further promote cooperation between the two Ministries, at the talks, Minister To Lam and Minister Kolokoltsev Vladimir Alexandrovich discussed a number of cooperation directions. In particular, the two sides effectively implemented the "Program of joint action between the Ministry of Public Security of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the period 2022 - 2024" signed in May 2022; studied and supplemented urgent cooperation contents that the two sides have needs and interests in the Coordination Program for the period 2025 - 2027; increased delegation exchanges at all levels, both bilateral and multilateral, to continue promoting cooperation and sharing in the field of crime prevention and control and a number of other tasks related to the functions of the two Ministries.

Continue to exchange criminal information, investigate and handle cases related to both sides effectively when requested by the other side. Study the possibility of establishing a coordination mechanism in the protection of businessmen, international students and citizens of one country working, studying and living in the other country, ensuring the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of the two countries, as well as proactively preventing criminal activities, law violations, and harm to the national security of Vietnam and the Russian Federation. Pay attention to supporting the training of officers and students of the Ministry of Public Security in the Russian Federation and sending experts to Vietnam to teach and improve the capacity of officers...
