According to information from the conference, human trafficking crimes have recently become more complicated nationwide. Victims are mainly between the ages of 16 and 28, concentrated mainly in the unemployed group. This is one of the main causes of human trafficking crimes.

The new trend of human trafficking crimes is often associated with online fraud, drugs, prostitution and forced labor. The nature and modus operandi of this type of crime are constantly changing, becoming more sophisticated and increasingly serious, mainly in cyberspace, making it difficult to detect and collect evidence to prove the criminal acts of the subjects.

To effectively combat human trafficking crimes, Border Guard units and Police at all levels have coordinated well in prevention work; advised and coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to propagate andeducate the law to people, especially in remote areas, border areas; focused on groups at high risk of being trafficked such as women, children, students of boarding schools, etc.

Up to now, the units have coordinated to organize nearly 42,000 concentrated propaganda sessions with more than 1.2 million participants; through the local loudspeaker system and the Border Guard Loudspeaker 24,200 hours; distributed 47,200 leaflets; posted and broadcast more than 1,000 news articles and reports on mass media... creating effects and spreading widely, improving the effectiveness of preventing and combating human trafficking crimes.

In the fight against and handling of human trafficking crimes, from May 2024 to May 2025, the forces discovered, coordinated investigations, and handled 118 cases/308 subjects, identified 419 victims and 233 suspected victims.

Regarding prevention work, the two forces have coordinated to receive 547 cases/9,689 illegal immigrants returned by China, Laos, and Cambodia. Through screening, 195 people suspected of trafficking and 41 wanted criminals were discovered; 1,512 cases/6,305 illegal immigrants were detected and prevented, and 4,781 cases/7,905 subjects were handled for administrative violations.

The conference unanimously assessed that the two forces have closely coordinated and effectively implemented the contents of Coordination Plan No. 1326; proactively grasped the situation, resolutely coordinated to implement plans and professional strategies, and dismantled many human trafficking rings domestically and abroad.

In the coming time, the Department of Drug and Crime Prevention and Control (Border Guard) and the Department of Criminal Police (Ministry of Public Security) will advise the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security to direct the Border Guard and Public Security forces at all levels to coordinate in summarizing the Program on preventing and combating human trafficking for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030 and Coordination Plan No. 1326; propose and agree on coordination content for the period 2026-2030.

In addition to the work of preventing and combating human trafficking, it is necessary to expand the "source" crime areas of human trafficking such as: Organizing illegal immigration, buying and selling human body parts, forced labor, prostitution, marriage brokerage, etc.
