Regardless of hardship, help people responsibly and effectively

The recent historic flood caused great damage to Phan Dinh Phung ward, although the locality has done a good job of prevention and control with the motto "4 on-site". We also proactively surveyed key points in the area and reported to the province to request military units to coordinate in helping to evacuate people and property to safe places, reinforce the Cau River dike... When the water flooded, officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army and other forces spread out everywhere to evacuate the elderly, children, people in deep flooded areas, and supply necessities. After the flood, thousands of soldiers from Military Region 1, Chemical Corps, Thai Nguyen Provincial Military Command, Army Corps 12... and many vehicles continued to join other forces in wading in mud and garbage to help the locality and people clean the environment, collect garbage, spray disinfectant, clean streets, office buildings, schools, medical facilities...

Despite dangerous, toxic, difficult and arduous conditions, officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army are always enthusiastic and responsible, helping the locality prevent, combat and overcome the consequences of natural disasters effectively. Thanks to that, from October 13, departments, offices, agencies, units and schools in Phan Dinh Phung ward have returned to normal operation.

Will always remember the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers

Our business also suffered heavy damage and it will take a long time for the water to recede completely to restore production and business. However, witnessing the damage to the people and the images of the officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army rolling in the fierce flood to rescue, and when the flood receded, wading through mud and garbage to help the people with all their might, we wanted to do something to help the people and encourage the soldiers. Therefore, in the past few days, we bought cooling drinks, some snacks, fruits to make juice, mixed lemonade to serve the soldiers and forces on duty to help people overcome the consequences of the flood. I hope that people will unite, support each other, and help each other overcome this difficult period; the officers and soldiers will always be healthy, complete their tasks well and always be a support for the people in difficult times. I will always remember the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers, especially the young soldiers who are very responsible, disciplined in their work, and do not fear hardship.

Seeing the army is reassuring.

In the recent flood, my house was almost completely flooded up to the first floor, and the yard was waist-deep in mud. Looking out onto the street, I witnessed a horrifying scene with an unknown amount of trash and mud. Looking inside the house and on the street, I was worried about when the cleanup would be finished so that there would be space to move around because there were only my husband, wife, and two small children in the house. Fortunately, as soon as the water receded, soldiers, police, and other forces and vehicles were present to help people clean up. Only then did I feel secure and know that everything would soon return to normal. In the past few days, hundreds of army officers and soldiers have been working in the mud, under the scorching sun and unpleasant smell, from early morning to late afternoon, helping to collect and transport mud and garbage. Not only cleaning the streets, the soldiers also helped many families with preferential policies, families in difficult circumstances, and few people like my family. Thanks to that, the streets are much tidier today. Despite the difficulties and hardships, officers and soldiers still help people enthusiastically and responsibly.

The green color of soldier's uniform warms the school after the flood

Trung Vuong Primary School is one of the schools that suffered heavy consequences from the circulation of storm No. 11, with water up to 1.5m deep. The school mobilized staff, teachers, and parents to clean up as the water receded, but there was still not enough manpower to overcome the consequences caused by the floods. In the midst of the crisis, the school received support from the 210th Air Defense Brigade (Military Region 1) to help clean classrooms, wipe tables and chairs, remove a large amount of mud and garbage, and ensure hygiene and safety. Seeing the green color of the soldiers' uniforms at the school, we were very moved. The workload was heavy, everyone was tired, but they all tried their best to complete the work to be ready to welcome students back to school. The timely presence of the soldiers gave teachers more strength. Indeed, Uncle Ho's soldiers are always for the people, always ready to help when the people need it!

The soldiers return, bringing hope

My house is located on the hillside. Before the storm, my family had prepared everything, but we never expected this flood to be so fierce. In the dark night, the whole family only had time to hear the sound of rocks and soil rumbling and then a corner of the wall collapsed. My husband, wife, and children could only run away together, but when they turned around, all their property and livestock had been buried. Now I am still weak in the knees. The house was empty, we looked at the rubble and felt helpless, not knowing where to start. While we were confused and worried, soldiers from the Defense Command of Area 1 - Duc Xuan and Infantry Regiment 750, Provincial Military Command arrived. They helped my family clear rocks and soil, search for remaining items... Thanks to them, my family has more motivation and hope to come here to rebuild the house and soon restore production.

Without troops, I don't know when it will be finished.

Immediately after the flood receded, on October 9, officers and soldiers of the 575th Brigade, 382nd Brigade (Military Region 1) and Regiment 832, Thai Nguyen Provincial Military Command spread out to all agencies, units, village roads, and alleys in Dan Tien commune. They cleaned up agency headquarters, schools, medical stations, main roads, and helped policy families, families in difficult circumstances, single-parent families, and many other households... Thanks to the effective and enthusiastic support of the Army units, after two days, a huge amount of mud and garbage was cleared so that schools, medical stations, and public administration could resume operations from October 13. Without the troops, it is unknown when the flood aftermath would have been resolved. Not only that, in the process of helping the locality, the comrades also discovered the risk of landslides on the mountain behind the commune headquarters. Since then, we have been closely monitoring and seeing this risk growing. To ensure safety, on October 14, we cleared out the old Binh Long commune headquarters and moved here to work...
