In July, Nha Nam released a trilogy of History of Western Philosophy by author Bertrand Russell, including: Ancient Philosophy, Catholic Philosophy and Modern Philosophy .

With History of Western Philosophy , Bertrand Russell brought philosophy - dry and abstract as many people mistakenly thought - closer to the masses.

The author enlightened and laid the foundation for Anglo-American analytical philosophy in the 20th century. According to him, philosophy is "the study and even the search for answers to the questions that most appeal to the most speculative minds".

Since its first publication in 1945, A History of Western Philosophy has been recognized by the public and critics as a work of "excellent wit, clarity, lucidity, and authority" (AC Grayling).

The trilogy has had a huge influence on the development of many different industries and fields throughout the ages.

In Ancient Philosophy , Bertrand Russell explores the thought of pre-Socratic philosophers (including Thales, Pythagoras, Heraclitus, etc.); Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle; ancient philosophy after Aristotle (including cynics and skeptics, epics, stoics, etc.).

Volume 2 - Catholic Philosophy includes developments in Jewish philosophy, Islam, St Ambrose, St Jerome, St Augustine, St Benedict and Pope Gregory the Great…

Finally, Modern Philosophy moves from the Renaissance to Hume and from Rousseau to the present day. The final chapter in this section deals with Russell's own philosophical views at the time.

Written by one of the great contributors to philosophy and logic, History of Western Philosophy is described as "readable, highly entertaining, instructive, and a must-have for everyone, from students to those who want to learn and study philosophy".

Philosopher Willard Van Orman Quine (Harvard University) once commented: "Many of us were drawn to the philosophy profession by the work of Bertrand Russell.

He writes a series of books for the general public, from the expert to the curious. We are captivated by his wisdom and clear explanations of the central issues of reality."

Bertrand Russell (1872-1970) was a leading British philosopher, historian, social critic, and political activist of the 20th century.

Appointed professor at Trinity College (part of Cambridge University), he had to resign in 1916 because of his pacifist ideas. However, that did not prevent him from devoting his life to tireless anti-war activities.

In 1955, at the height of the Cold War, he drafted the famous Russell-Einstein Declaration , which was the precursor to later nuclear non-proliferation treaties.

With his influential works, promoting humanitarian values and freedom of thought, as well as his life's work History of Western Philosophy , Bertrand Russell was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1950.
