Vice Chairman of Bo Trach District People's Committee Nguyen Van Thuy said that in order to effectively implement forest management and protection, forest fire prevention and control, localities and forest owners need to continue to effectively implement the central and local directives on forest protection and development, and forest fire prevention and control. Propaganda, mobilization and education work needs to innovate content and diversify forms to improve quality and effectiveness, creating strong changes in awareness, consciousness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, forest owners, businesses and people in forest management, protection and development.
Localities and forest owners need to monitor and manage the exploitation of planted forests well during the dry season; prevent and strictly handle illegal fire-setting in forests and forest edges during the hottest days to limit forest fires. The mobilization of forces and means of rescue must be timely when forest fires occur, preventing large fires from causing damage to people and property of the state and people. Forest inspection and hunting of illegal loggers in forests that are still rich in resources need to be strengthened. Developing large-scale timber plantations, converting small-scale timber plantations to large-scale timber in conjunction with granting FSC forest certification, improving the lives of people living near forests to reduce the risk of impact on natural forests.
