Journey to the source of meaning

Minister Nguyen Van Thang and the delegation of the Ministry of Finance visited and offered incense and laid wreaths to pay tribute to the martyrs resting at the Pham Van Khang Martyrs' Cemetery and comrades in Phuc Ninh Commune, Yen Son District, Tuyen Quang Province (now Xuan Van Commune).

Provincial leaders presented flowers to congratulate Minister Nguyen Van Thang on his visit and work in the province.

Martyr Pham Van Khang, former Head of the Production Team of the Ministry of Finance, was assigned the task of transporting documents and equipment for printing financial money by river to the Viet Bac War Zone during the resistance war against the French. On the way, comrade Pham Van Khang's canoe was discovered, chased and shot down by French aircraft in Minh Tan village, Phuc Ninh commune. Comrade Pham Van Khang and his comrades fought bravely to protect national assets and sacrificed themselves on April 25, 1947.

Martyr Pham Van Khang and his comrades were buried by the people on the banks of the Lo River along with mass graves. In 2007, to show gratitude to the martyrs of the Finance sector who fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, the Ministry of Finance and the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province organized a search, collection and construction of the Martyr Cemetery of Pham Van Khang and his comrades on the banks of the Lo River. The project was inaugurated on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 2007).

Through many times of investment in renovation, upgrading and construction of additional auxiliary works, up to now, the Cemetery of Martyrs Pham Van Khang and his comrades has become spacious, becoming a meaningful destination for generations of the Finance industry.

Support the construction of a spacious school in the revolutionary homeland

During this working trip, the delegation of the Ministry of Finance visited teachers and students of Le Van Hien Primary and Secondary School, Tu Thinh Commune (now Son Duong Commune). At the same time, a ceremony was held to attach a signboard to the Le Van Hien Primary and Secondary School, on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Finance Sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025).

Le Van Hien Primary and Secondary School was established in 2004 (formerly Tu Thinh Secondary School, Tu Thinh Commune, former Son Duong District). The school   It is an honor to be named after the late Minister of Finance of our country from 1946 to 1958. Since its inception, the school has received attention and support from the Ministry of Finance to build a 3-storey classroom building with 21 classrooms and a principal's office with 10 offices.

The project to renovate and upgrade Le Van Hien Primary and Secondary School was approved for investment in 2022, with items including: renovating and repairing a 3-storey classroom building with 21 rooms and a 2-storey principal's office; building a new 3-storey classroom building, 2-storey principal's office, multi-purpose building, dormitory, canteen, public service building and auxiliary items; purchasing learning equipment... with a total investment of over 69.5 billion VND from capital contributed by the staff and civil servants of the Finance sector.

The projects funded by the Ministry of Finance have helped ethnic children in Son Duong commune study in a spacious and well-equipped environment, and the quality of education has been gradually improved.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang reviewed the 80-year tradition of building and growing the Finance sector. At the same time, he expressed his gratitude to the ethnic people of Tuyen Quang province for protecting and sheltering the Finance sector so that it could continuously grow and mature, contributing to the victory in the resistance war against the French colonialists.

He emphasized: With the tradition of "remembering the source of water", over the years, generations of leaders and officials of the Finance sector have regularly cared for and encouraged the people of all ethnic groups in Tuyen Quang province in terms of material and spiritual matters. The ceremony of attaching the signboard of Le Van Hien Primary and Secondary School, invested in and built by Tuyen Quang province on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Finance sector's tradition, is a great honor for generations of the sector.

He hopes that local authorities and schools will effectively use the invested facilities to gradually improve the quality of education in the coming time.

On the same day, the delegation of the Ministry of Finance offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and the late Minister Le Van Hien at the Ministry of Finance relic site in Cau Bi village, Tu Thinh commune (old). The comrades in the delegation expressed their respect and infinite gratitude for the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and revolutionary predecessors, heroic martyrs to the cause of national liberation as well as gratitude for the contributions of the late Minister Le Van Hien to the Finance sector.

The leadership team and staff of the Finance sector today vow to strive and make every effort to fulfill their tasks, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the country.
