Minister Nguyen Kim Son asked localities to prepare well for printing high school graduation exam papers, avoiding blurry printing incidents like the 10th grade Math exam in Hanoi .
"Like the 10th grade exam in Hanoi, even if the exam questions are a little blurry, it's already tiring," the Ministerof Education and Training said while working with the Steering Committee for the high school graduation exam in Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of June 13.
Referring to the incident of blurred math questions causing many 10th grade students in Hanoi to get the wrong answers, Mr. Son noted that Ho Chi Minh City and other localities must avoid similar incidents.
Regarding the printing and grading of exam papers, the Minister requested that good machines be equipped. If they are old, they must be considered for replacement to ensure the quality of printing and grading. In addition, the staff in charge must be careful and check again, and not rely entirely on the machines.

Regarding the printing and copying of graduation exam papers in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training, said that the printing and copying area has 90 people participating. When printing and copying up to 3,000 copies, the person in charge must check it again to ensure the quality of the printed papers. The exam papers are transported by private vehicles, delivered to each testing site early in the morning and received in the late afternoon.
"HCMC does not leave exam papers and candidates' answers overnight at the exam site. As for Can Gio district, every morning, the Department of Transport will prioritize separate ferries to transport exam papers for this district," said Mr. Hieu.
This year, Ho Chi Minh City has more than 97,400 candidates registered for the high school graduation exam, distributed to 156 exam locations. The city mobilized more than 15,000 teachers and staff to serve the organization of the high school graduation exam. Mr. Hieu added that the city has just organized the entrance exam for grade 10, the exam regulations are applied similarly to the graduation exam. Therefore, the city has experience to prepare for the upcoming graduation exam.

The 2023 high school graduation exam will take place on June 28-29, with more than one million candidates registering to attend.
Grade 12 students must take four exams to be considered for graduation. Of these, three are independent exams including Math, Literature, Foreign Language; one of two combined exams is Natural Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Social Science (History, Geography, Civic Education for general education; or History, Geography for continuing education).
The graduation exam is classified as a “top secret” state secret. According to regulations, the Minister of Education and Training establishes a council to create the graduation exam questions, which are then transported to localities for printing. This is done in a safe, isolated location and is strictly monitored and protected by the police until the end of the final exam period.
