From October 14 to 17, the Department of Education and Training of An Giang organized training courses to improve teaching capacity in Music and Fine Arts for nearly 600 managers and primary school teachers in the province.


Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Fine Arts training course, Mr. Vo Van Quoi, Deputy Head of the General Education Department (Department of Education and Training of An Giang) emphasized: Fine Arts is a special subject that aims to develop creativity, the ability to perceive and express art, with many similarities and advantages to effectively integrate with STEAM education.
Implementing STEAM in Fine Arts teaching will help students not only appreciate beauty, but also apply interdisciplinary knowledge to create practical products close to life; at the same time, develop students' comprehensive capacity to meet the goals of the 2018 General Education Program.

At the training class, delegates were presented with issues on STEM/STEAM Primary education activities to meet the 2018 General Education Program, STEAM education in Fine Arts and Music.
At the same time, discuss the role of Music/Arts in STEAM education and integrate STEAM education through Art, and forms of organizing STEAM education in Primary schools.



Through that, the groups select and design lesson plans for specific STEAM education topics/lessons in Music and Fine Arts that are applicable and feasible to implement in real classrooms.
The training courses help the management staff and teachers of Music, Fine Arts and management staff better understand the nature, role and methods of implementing STEAM education content in an innovative direction to effectively implement the 2018 General Education Program.
